Fortunately, YouTube offers a relatively level playing field for real estate agents. Creating a free YouTube account is easy. Smartphones make video creation fairly simple, and there are plenty of online tutorials to help you get started.

You can also opt to make videos private or unlisted, so you can upload practice videos without exposing them to the public at large. A private video requires the viewer to log in to YouTube to access the video's URL link. An unlisted video can be seen by anyone you share the URL link with. In both cases, such videos will not appear under typical search criteria, or be displayed in playlist suggestions.

Getting your videos published on YouTube requires just a few steps:

  • Create your YouTube account
  • Set up your YouTube channel. Include your branding!
  • Organize your videos by playlist. Categories includes things like homes for sale, neighborhood tours, how-to guides, and so on.
  • Use keywords in your video title, description and tags, just as you would in a blog post or other online content. Good SEO habits pay off!
  • Monitor your channel for comments, questions and leads! You have the option to disable comments on your videos if you wish.

YouTube audiences represent a wide array of demographics, with viewers from around the world. 8 out of 10 people, aged 18 to 49, are YouTube viewers! And like many other social media platforms, YouTube use is growing at an exponential rate.
