Marketing Is Made More Complex Than It Needs To Be | Keep It Simple!!

So many agents respond to marketing posts as if they were magical thoughts. “Marketing is common sense.”  It’s a matter of sharing thoughts with your audience that will trigger a response and result in a phone call.

The first step is to determine who your audience will be.  These are the folks who are the target of your marketing. For most of you, it would be those who have a desire for your niche. It’s the focus of your marketing.

Once you know who these potential clients are, you will then be able to think as they think.  If you were one of these potential clients, what type of marketing would trigger a response from you?  “This is common sense.”

This is how you determine what your online keywords will be; what flavor your print marketing will have; and where your postcards will be directed.  It all starts with knowing your audience, and it continues with your thinking as that audience thinks.  “This is common sense.”

Know your audience; know your market; and make your presentation direct but with passion.  Be convincing, and let your audience know that you mean business. “Market like you mean it.”  Future clients need guidance, and if they feel their guide is not strong, they’re on to the next one.  “Marketing is common sense.”

Just a quick thought on marketing….

Lovely post, Barbara and you are so right. Figuring out WHO you're "talking" to is imperative. Then, be sure to keep that person in mind as you write your content. Dump the cliche's, the overly-formal words and the "marketese." Conversational and engaging is the name of the game. Thanks again, Barbara.

Again genius, the only problem is our selves getting it right, be the right message. That is the million dollar question, very thought provoking  Barbara. It really gets me thinking how we approach our audience.

Steven Nickens don't overthink it!!! this is what the majority of agents do.... KEEP IT SIMPLE... how would you think, if you were that target audience.... you know YOU.... and if that thought doesn't work, think of another way you would think if you were that audience... make your title keywords reflect that.... and discuss those thoughts in your content....

I have always found it's better to work a smaller area.    Find a niche and work it.   It's that simple.
