"We invite you to choose this place; To visit, to explore, or to stay."
If you have any interest in geology and have 4:33, you may enjoy this video describing the geology of the area. It focuses on the Ice Age Floods. Wenatchee River Valley features are also described from the Columbia River to Leavenworth, Washington. Giant flood bars, ice-rafted erratics and rhythmites are all explained.

So often folks travel to and through a place without contemplating the forces of nature that carved and formed it. I remember visiting Yosemite once, and looking up at those mammoth rock mountains, and trying to understand the glacial forces that helped create them.

Carol,
Geology is one of the most important factors used to determine the viability of the dirt when it comes to planting grapes. Hi James Dray ,
We do have a lot of retirees move here, especially from the Seattle area. They come her on the weekend while they're working and move here when they retire. My new neighbor is relocating her from St.Louis to be closer to kids.

Hi Myrl Jeffcoat ,
As I travel and see interesting geological formations, I have difficultly visualizing the violence that must have taken place as the Earth was heaving.
Thank you Sheila Anderson . It's an interesting place to live and contemplate what must have taken place during the Ice Age.

Hi Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD ,
Nature's power IS amazing, isn't it? I can't even begin to truly comprehend it.
That is true with the apple varieties, too, Ron and Alexandra Seigel . In the upper valley, pears are more prolific than the apples here and in the Basin.
Carol,
I love this type of information. It makes one understand why one plot of land thrives and another does not.
Carol that is a very interesting video! Amazing to fathom just how long ago that was and what is now.
