A home is a special place where you are safe, relaxed and familiar. A home is a place you make and it can be anywhere. A house is something else: it is just a structure. I have known folks who have been home in an apartment, a basement, a garage and even in a car. Believe it or not everyone doesn't need a formal structure they own to be happy.
Happiness is different for everyone. Some people measure happiness by criteria that is more about a facade than a feeling. In my view, that is too bad. I love to travel, but I am always happy to be home: in my place where there is contentment and familiarity.
When I worked directly with buyers I would often ask them, as we searched, does this feel like home to you. The ones who understood are by and large still there. For the others no structure can fix a feeling that isn't right. Are you home?
