Summer's a great time for local festivals and fairs. Last month, Camarillo held their annual Fiesta and Street Fair. In April, guests enjoyed the Spring Wine Walk and Street Fair here in Ventura. But one of the most highly anticipated fair events of the year is going on right now...the 2019 Ventura County Fair. That means lots of exhibits, fun carnival rides, great games, and, of course, fair food!

Admission: $12/adult, $9/kids & seniors 65+, FREE/kids under 5 & seniors 100+
2019 Ventura County Fair
4H and FFA bring farm animals to the city with their livestock exhibits at the fair. Other exhibits found in other pavilions on the fairgrounds include artwork (professional and amateur, floral arrangements, photography, gems and minerals, quilting, and much, much more. There's even a youth exhibit that features work done by local area youngsters. Live demonstrations take place every day all around the fairgrounds as well. They include Topa Topa Flywheel, wood carvers, wood turners, wooden toys, a plant workshop, and a National Parks Service Kid's Corner.
The midway opens at noon every day of the fair. Tickets for the carnival must be purchased separately from your fair admission. Get yours online before you go here. Fair organizers offer special discounts for certain days, such as Seniors and Persons With Disabilities Day (Aug 6th), $3 Before 3 Day (Aug 7th), and Military Appreciation Day (Aug 8th). Grandstand Concerts
Every single night brings a new, amazingly talented artist or group to perform for the fair crowds. And these concerts come included in your price of admission to the fair. You may have already missed out on iconic stars such as Styx, Martina McBridge, and Melissa Ethridge when they played the grandstand last week. But you still have the opportunity to see other fantastic performers coming up this week:

- Tuesday, August 6th - Tommy James & The Shondells (1 pm) & The Brothers Osbourne (7:30 pm)
- Wednesday, August 7th - Daughtry (7:30 pm)
- Thursday, August 8th - George Thorogood & The Destroyers (7:30 pm)
- Friday, August 9th - Collective Soul (7:30 pm)
The PRCA Pro Rodeo takes over things on Saturday and Sunday at 2 pm and 7 pm.
