Multigen Homes for Sale

Multigen Home Sales - January

Multigenerational  (multigen) homes are gaining in popularity.  And no wonder - multigen households can be a great option for all ages. The 2018 Pew Research Center study shows that 1 in 5 or 20% of all U.S. households are multigen families.  Although many young adults are part of this population, seniors are becoming a larger percentage of these households.  And the benefits are clear - it far outweighs institutional or assisted living. As a result, fewer seniors are now living alone than in 1990s.

If you are looking for a multigen home, you should give us a call to help with your search. With over a decade of personal experience in a multigen household, we specialize in this field.

Our multigen homes are located on acreage or large lots. They have "elbow room for the soul", which provides lots of room & privacy. We even have a special search set up to help you find the perfect home - separate living quarters, great amenities, and lots of room for privacy.

MultiGen Homes for Sale

We will often see homes that, at first glance, might not appear to be suitable because there are no separate quarters - our was like that. But, you can remodel and upgrade to accommodate family members. We have that experience as well, so we know how to identify those "hidden gem" opportunities.

If you are looking for a multigen home, it's important to know the market:

Multigenerational Homes

Median Days on Market was 68 days - up from 38 days in August.  But even during winter months, multigen homes don't stay on the market very long!

*Note: Averages are for homes priced $350,000 and above, and does not include a spectacular $18,500,000 165-acre multigen property in Woodland, WA)

Hi Debb... that is some room you've pictured. It's interesting to me that your averages don't include homes priced under $350K.  That's more than the median price point in the Charlotte region! In any case, sales of multi-gen homes do not seem to be slowing down in your area.

Hi Debb and Bernie, I enjoyed the video. What beautiful views of the area and homes. Really like the one over the Columbia river. It looks like I need to explore that type of properties for potential clients here.

Nina Hollander it's because they are not ViewHomes - homes under 350K are all on tight lots, or not optimal for living in a soothing enviroment.

Hi Debb and Bernie- I love the idea of Multi-gen living for many reasons. I grew up in a mult-gen home and would not trade that experience for anything. Also appreciate your making your reports easy to read.

Hello Debb and Bernie - your local Clark County real estate insight can help prospective buyers imagine life in a multigen home when they previously did not think that was the case or even possible.  That's an important part of the puzzle when moving to your next home.

Good morning, Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD!

I can see many advantages to multi-generational living. Cooking for one or seniors who don't eat much is costly and it is truly beneficial to be living with family members who can be sure their loved ones are eating healthy and they are not alone. If there are little ones, oh, what joy! There is no great joy to grandparents than grand-kids. Pets, get more pets and give more unconditional love to all! Clearly, as Multi-Generational Specialists, you know all the joy and benefits and when it comes to buyers and sellers, nobody does it better than you.
