I just love this country of ours, it is so beautiful with so much to see and do. I am a native NYer now residing in Florida the vacation capital of America where "The Mouse" gets fed quite well by all those looking for a little reprieve from the daily grind.
Well we just took a trip to North East Kansas! You may think what in the world would one find in Kansas?
Let me tell you about Kansas, at least the area that I visited. I have family living there and had visited them 15 years ago when my niece was supposed to be born. She ended up being born a week after I left, but she is an awesome young lady today!
Kansas is not part of the heartland for nothing. It has some of the most beautiful terrain, gorgeous victorian and colonial style historic homes on some of the most breathtaking landscapes in rural America. The farms are either dairy, meat or crop farms on the most beautiful rolling hills.
This was a vacation to refresh the heart and soul!!!
I just love spending time with family and seeing new places. I have nieces and nephews that every mother would give their right arm to have. Well behaved, well spoken, helpful, hopeful, enterprising, creative, GREAT COOKS! resourceful... the list goes on and on and on!!!
Let me tell you a little about my niece. She is the third daughter and the forth born. This young lady along with her sisters can handle a kitchen and cook some of the finest and tastiest meals I've ever eaten!!! They are all a treasure far above price!
NO JOKE!!!
My nephew, well lets just call him the "horse whisperer." He loves to take abused horses and love them back to the wonderful creatures God designed them to be! He is an amazing young man.
He is a very sensitive young man on a mission. He is unstoppable! He will be going on a mission trip over seas very soon and your prayers for his safety are much appreciated.
I just don't have room to tell you about all of my wonderful nieces and nephews nor their superb and sacrificial parents, but in my book they're all the best you'll ever know!
We played volleyball until darkness overtook us and I had to prove that this almost 50 year old gal can still play a mean game!
The family went on a hike while I relaxed (too much like exercise, which I really need)!
I rode my nephews horse... Oh Lord have mercy on her back!!!
Ok so what's my gig? Go on vacation, visit a place you've either never been before or haven't been for a while. Relax, enjoy your family and refresh yourself in the goodness of God! You'll be so much better for it!
