Dam Patience

Recently friend and East Valley Arizona real estate expert  Brian England wrote a post about referrals.  In his post, he was hopeful that more would be coming his way.

After commenting, I continued to think about it.  And about some of the foundations of real estate.  Marketing.   Networking.  All sorts of activity.  Some of it new lead generating as well as staying connected in one form or another.

The word and concept of "foundation" kept entering my thoughts.  Our business infrastructure is one of those basics.  I even used a reference to levees in my comment to Brian.

Feelings of "hurry up and wait" can play a part.  We may hear the term quick response and then ask "how quick?" Ah, yes patience.

My mind wandered and veered towards some quotes.  I found many but I like these three:

Have patience with all things, But, first of all with yourself

                                                                                     Saint Francis de Sales

Patience is a virtue, and I am learning patience. It's a tough lesson.

                                                                                     Elon Musk

Patience and perseverance

have a magical effect

before

which difficulties disappear

and obstacles vanish.

                                                                                     John Quincy Adams

Although former altar boy Brian might not use the word "damn" it is definitely part of my vocabulary so out of respect for him, I thought about the effectiveness of dams when it comes to patience.

The knowledge of homonyms can be as useful as it is fun.  HaHa,  As for dams, like levees they are known as stable.  Sure of their eventual effectiveness.

Hence the title of this post.

Not Damn Patience which might "work" for me but Dam Patience.  Patience can certainly "pay off".

Brian England - it didn't seem "right" for me to choose just one quote I went in search of words of patience by others.  The first two seem to be excellent choices for reasons likely known plus the Adams quote seemed to be the right fit.  Thanks again for the inspiration.

Kat Palmiotti - aren't we all?  I know I am...

Grant Schneider - that pump must be primed.

Steve Higgins - dammit all, right?

Ron and Alexandra Seigel - that's an interesting part of life.  Momentum as well as the natural cylce of it.

I can honestly say, Michael, that my patience has been great the last two or three years.  I definitely agree with this quote.... "Have patience with all things, But, first of all with yourself"

Some pretty powerful pondering here. At times, I curse those damn dams as they take the powerful spunk out of our rivers. But then, speaking of power, how much more would it cost if we didn't have those dams in our rivers? As for patience, it can be a tough one.  Life ebbs and flows doesn't it?

Michael Jacobs - Your wisdom is welcomed and appreciated. Your sense of humor is always tasteful and funny too! Your title got my attention immediately. I'm glad you explained why you chose to spell it that way and mentioned Brian England

Coincidentally, I was communicating with Brian yesterday too! In many ways, he really is a very busy bee! By the way, I love how respectful you and Brian are. Common courtesy, respect, kindness, being helpful, and having patience are the best qualities when maintaining friendship and building relationships.

Also, I liked all of the quotes you selected!

Michael Jacobs, your post on patience comes at a perfect time for me as I am involved in a communication battle with APPLE over my $900.00 smart phone.  A manager at MyApple told me my very expensive, disabled phone has to again wait for an ALL-ROBOT TECH SYSTEM to restore it.  Normally I do have lots of patience, however, we are going on 1 month I have been waiting patiently and was just told to expect to wait another 23 days for the ROBOTS to correct it.  Michael, I think the DAM is giving out.  In the meantime I picked up a prepaid SimpleMobile Rebel smart phone.  Ha Ha.  Trying to circumvent.

MYAPPLE Manager Eric told me there are no 'HUMANS" working at the 'Restoration Department'  and I asked him what if there is a glitch in the system.  He replied:  YOU HAVE TO BE PATIENT>  Guess I need to have faith in their system also.  The ROBOT DEPARTMENT  HAD GIVEN ME FEBRUARY 22ND when they would contact me and restore my  phone.  I never heard from them at the designated time 4:51:21 EST.  Now I am to wait another 23 days.  BELIEVE, Jane AND REMEMBER, 'PATIENCE.'

Sharon Tara - I would never attempt to claim such.

Jane Chaulklin-Schott - it sounds like you could definitely a contender for "most patient" although I am sure you have another request if requests are being given.

Michael, patience is definitely hard at times.   Many buyers think they have all year to find a home, but how long do you drive them around?
