One of the things I love about travelling is learning new things, languages, culture and just things people do for fun. On my recent trip I got involved in a local game of Bosseln. What is that you might ask?
Well I made a video to explain, but basically it is road bowling, played in Ireland and Northern Holland as well, it can be taken very seriously, but this was a fun afternoon. Well we hoped it was but we got hit by a major storm, and did not complete our course as it began hailing and the rain had penetrated everyone's clothes. Hope you enjoy the video. Cannot see this being played in the US due to liability issues. We did all have to step aside when a car came down the road/lane on which we were playing. We had eight teams playing, in two separate groups, so our support car shared time between us, luckily we had our trusty wagon with us.
Afterwards we got warm, dryed off and met up at the local restaurant, which is also an Irish Bar to have some traditional German food, Green Cabbage and Wurst and Pork with Potatoes, and beer and schnapps. A fun afternoon and evening.
What I discovered is that you can have fun, regardless of the weather, there are so many interesting people around the world, you just have to talk to them, and you should never judge a book by its cover, and you can make new friends where ever you are.
