Essential Employees in Maryland Must Carry a Letter

This phrase headlines details released through the Maryland state website regarding the executive order issued by Governor Larry Hogan to Stay Home.
As of 8 p.m. on March 30, all Marylanders must stay home unless for an essential reason. Food and essential services stores remain open.
Maryland residents received a text message Monday night in English and Spanish, from Hogan’s office, reminding them of the executive order and recommending that “employers have to provide letters to demonstrate that employees are consider essential.”
Employees must bring these letters containing:
The name and address of the employee
The name and address of the company
The type of the employee’s job, including the reasons why the employee’s job meets the definition of essential
Employer’s signature and contact information
