Yountville's First Step Back to Normalcy
This post from Curtis Van Carter is pleasing to me because I am anxious for things to start opening up around the country. It isn't fun at all seeing people struggle.
Subject: Update to Napa County Health Order Allows for Reopening of Pickleball, Tennis and Bocce Courts for Use by Yountville Residents with Restrictions
The Napa County Public Health Officer released an updated Shelter at Home Order on May 7, 2020 that allows for additional outdoor sports with limitations. The Town of Yountville is able to reopen the Tennis and Pickleball Courts located at Vineyard Park as well as the Bocce Courts located at Veterans Park to Yountville Residents with the following limitations and requirements. All other recreation and park areas that were closed previously will remain closed including playgrounds, picnic areas, some restrooms and contact sports courts (Basketball & Volleyball).
But then there is always the fine print but it is still a start.
TENNIS/PICKLEBALL COURTS
- Maximum of 20 People in the Court Area at any one time. (16 Pickleball/4 Tennis)
- Waiting must be done OUTSIDE of the courts in a socially distanced manner.
- Feeling sick? DO NOT PLAY!
- Been in contact with someone exhibiting COVID19 symptoms? DO NOT PLAY!
- If you need to cough or sneeze, do so into a handkerchief, tissue or your elbow.
- Singles Play is advised. Doubles play will require wearing a face covering unless paired with someone who lives in your household.
- Keep 6 FEET apart from others. No physical contact.
- Stay on your side of the court. Avoid changes sides of the court.
- Avoid using your hands to pick up balls. Use your racquet or foot to hit the ball to the opponent.
- No sharing of equipment.
- Use care when touching multi touch surfaces like gates and benches.
- Bring hand sanitizer and to use before entering and after play.
- We recommend you bring your own ball/s and write your name on it with a sharpie. Only pick up your own ball. Otherwise use rally scoring (No Serving).
- If a ball from another court comes to you, send it back with a kick or racquet.
- No Handshakes OR High Fives.
BOCCE COURTS
- Maximum of 16 People in the Court Area at any one time.
- Waiting must be done OUTSIDE of the courts in a socially distanced manner.
- Feeling sick? DO NOT PLAY!
