I am spoiled when it comes to where I live, I remember thinking it was nothing to drive 10 or 15 miles for shopping, dining and entertainment, well no more! See that picture of logos? That group plus about 50 more shopping and dining places are about 4 to 8 minutes by golf cart from my house.
Like many of you that live in a metropolitan area it is hard to find the perfect place to live for what is important to you. Job, schools, shopping and dining can be spread out over a large area which means windshield time to go where you need to go. The Villages, Florida is much the same you can choose a home that is 5 or 10 miles from where you shop, dine or entertainment or you can decide on a location closer to where you will spend your time.
I had an out of state buyer I worked with and one thing I always do is what lifestyle are you looking, how important is retail and what recreations are you planning to be involved with. This buyer played competitive tennis on clay courts and of course The Villages has clay courts but only in the northern end of The Villages. As we toured homes I figured the distance to the clay courts, some were 15 miles away while still in The Villages. I finally found them a home located right between the two country clubs that had the clay courts and they purchased it.
Many Villagers will buy 3 homes when they move here based on what they learned about the area, good for me as a REALTOR® but would rather help them find their forever home! So where do you live?
