Action (or Lack of) Controls Your Real Estate Market

Opportunity remains for those who have the desire, ability and drive to succeed in any type of market when selling something that consumers need.  Especially when forgoing the gloom and doom talk out there.

Agents that have been through this type of shift, have a clear advantage approach, than those newer to the industry. They are able to better navigate the ups/downs, ins/outs of any type of any real estate market.

Seriously, it doesn't matter:

  • who resides in the president's office
  • how high the interests rates climb
  • where the economy is heading.

The key is when to act and how to react. Educating buyers and sellers on the why of what's actually happening in our local market, also means providing workable options and viable solutions for them.

Southern Utah's scenery, outdoor recreation, healthy economy and small town hospitality are a huge draw.  Being ready to answer questions that will be asked and remaining positive is advantageous!

This market is strong and our inventory, plentiful. Experienced, determined and skilled agents will prevail and perform, while others may wait until business shows up at their door. Not likely to happen.

Hello Wanda - there are those who say, "talk is cheap".  And with the increase in prices of many (maybe lots more though I typically try to refrain of saying 'all') things, there is still a lot of value associated with action.

There is a lot of chatter out there and still, despite that, there are people looking to buy or sell here in my market, Michael Jacobs. I must move forward and take action because being left behind is not an option!

Good morning Wanda,

Yes opportunity is out there for those having the desire, commitment and positive attitude. Sitting around waiting for the next market shift is not going to work. The market is still strong and sellers need to sell and buyers need to buy. It's up to us to educate buyers and sellers to what is really going on and quit listening to the negativity of the press!!

Absolutely, Dorie Dillard Austin TX! I ignore the crazy media spin on concocted stories meant to cause mass fear and gloom & doom to drive traffic to their sites. I go by facts and am not afraid!

Wanda Kubat-Nerdin - Wanda Can!  Agents need to Farm their area and keep on mailing, blogging, and staying current in their local markets. Working hard the market is still strong if you know how to work it

That does work, Roy. Have been making a presence in local, real estate community events and new subdivisions that are planned to start dirtwork!

Sitting still causes a person to ruminate for their own failure to get involved for business sake, Lise Howe. Of course, if they are still living at home, in their parent's basement, then they are less apt to act!

Hi Wanda,

Today, I just finished showing clients four homes.  One of these homes was my listing.  I completely agree with getting out there and making it happen.

However,  every two years, right before the election, no matter what election it is, the market slows to a proverbial halt.  It is just human nature.  Even if there is a predictive landslide, buyers want to see it for themselves before hitting the buyer circuit once again. I have had listings just about every October, and during election years, the showings slow way down, and Sedona is a fall tourist area.

Real estate is cyclic and when that is understood, it is a place to start adapting and adjusting again, Sheri Sperry - MCNE® . During election cycles, some people believe if their candidate is not elected, everything will go to h-e-l-l!

The rest of us just keep moving forward!
