What a treat, we ventured 4 miles outside The Villages, Florida to try out a new restaurant. Alfee’s Grill in Lady Lake and it did not disappoint! I had the scallops and fried oysters, others at the table had shrimp, crab legs and frog legs and all of us were thrilled with our meals.
I started a conversation with our server which turns out to be the owner’s daughter who was a delight and very personable! The owner’s wife stopped by and I see where her daughter gets her bubbly personality. When I was done eating I visited with a table that had the Lebanese Food and they told me the best ever and they said they were experienced at Lebanese Food.
The owner and his wife came out and I told them I write an article a day about the area and was going to feature them. Off to the kitchen we go for a tour and them describing how they shuck fresh oysters, peel shrimp and NOTHING on the menu is frozen. Turns out this is their 3 or 4 restaurants they have owned and were very proud of their Lebanese heritage. They have another son and daughter who help out in the restaurant so a family affair!
I will be going back real soon and often, love supporting small businesses and especially a restaurant that prepares some of the best fresh seafood I have had. Next time it will be Lebanese but need to study up before I go to learn about the choices.
