EPA says it is only worth 7.22 million! Wow! I just read the article by WashigntonPost.com: “Cosmic Markdown: EPA Says Life Is Worth Less” Read entire article here!

I was shocked to know that there are agencies out there putting a price on the value a human being. .......”Last week, it was revealed that an Environmental Protection Agency office had lowered its official estimate of life's value, from about $8.04 million to about $7.22 million.”

Oh really!

......."By reducing the value of human life, which is really a devious way of cooking the books, the perceived benefits of cleaning up the air seem less,"

How dare anyone tell me how much they think my family and my life are worth!

“Measure wealth not by the things you have, but by the things you have for which you would not take money” by that standard---I am the wealthiest person I know. I would not take any money for my family or my life, my health—they are priceless!

What are your thoughts on this?

At the rate of inflation I think we are worth more. But overall some people dont think they are worth much. By having life they are actually abundantly rich.

Hmmm maybe I can get a reverse mortgage on my value. Would they factor in depreciation... umm I mean appreciation? I sort of work out now.

That's unbelievable, Aida. So, does our "value" go down as population increases? Is there only so much "value" in the world?

Hi Elizabeth---thank you for your comment. Yes, unbelievable that someone would even dare put a "price tag" on life! I know that my value in this world is not accordingto anyone else's standard--what the world thinks is of no consquece to me--only what God, my Creater thinks!

And who are these people that say how much a life is worth?
