Self promotion real estate card at year 16 in real estate career.

sweet little sixteen

It was the "thing to do" and a good idea to self promote.  All of our motivation seminars said to do it.  I tried several mailouts, one of which was featured a few days ago.  The same friends who'd saved the other one also showed me this one that they'd stuck back.

I put in a sweet sixteen photo even though I always hated the photo.  The style then was to put peroxide on your bangs or front of your hair and bleach it.  A girl friend did it and she looked gorgeous.  I did it and I looked.....well you can see.  The post card was based on the song "Sweet Little Sixteen".

What don't you like about that photo?  I think it looks great.  Sixteen is such an awkward age, but it doesn't look that way on you...  :)

Debi, teenage angst has always existed.  My hair was black.  It turned red or some awful color in front.  Took forever to grow out.  You're such a sweetie!

Peter, you lie, but I like you anyhow.  Good luck with the daughter.  Teenage angst, as mentioned to Debi, still is a terrible disease!

Charles, did you listen to Chuck Berry?  Really listen?  Or did you do what I do and go on about your business about 1/4 of the way through.   My husband says Chuck Berry visited the Univ of Arkansas once and everyone was impressed with the size of his hands.  They were the largest hands they'd ever seen.  They do appear large in this youtube.  And thanks for the compliment.

     That is too funny about the bangs story.  It is funny the things we do/did when we were younger to fit in.  I can remember all sorts of crazy things that have come and gone and come again in recent years.  Ah teenagers, to only be that young and carefree forever!

Allison in Columbus, thanks. Josh and Kathy, thanks for comments. It seems that no matter what we did, we never felt that we fit in when we were young. Teenagers seem young and carefree, but they are really a bundle of nerves. You must read the comic strip Zits to understand their angst.

Marchel, it has been so long ago I can't remember.  But my friends saved it for these many years and I remember receiving comments on it.  And my career has been successful so I guess the response was satisfactory.  Thanks for asking!

I like Chuck Berry. He has an awful lot to do with rock music, one of the pioneers. You do not want to delve too deeply into his personal life though....it gets a bit weird.

Self promotion is everything in our business.  My broker, Scott Lyle, has been in the business for 30 years (He's 48)  He has compiled a collection of all of his mailers from differents, and has put together a presentation book for his buyers and sellers.

I love Chuck Barry's music.....You should post this in the "Inspired by Song" group on AR.
