OMG, are my eyes deceiving me??

OMG, are my eyes deceiving me??  Wait a minute and I'll rub them once again.  NOPE they're not!

My morning started early today.  And it was a real eye opener when I drove by one of the gas stations close to my home.  As I always do, I checked the prices and couldn't believe my eyes.  I had to stop and take a picture because I am sure that people would find it hard to believe.  Check it out!

We have been seeing gas prices drop multiple times a day so I can hardly wait until tonight to see where they will be.

Thanks for the heads up, Don!  Hubby and I are about to go for a little ride and if we find gas for less than $3, we are filling up all the recreational vehicles today.  YEAH!

Hope it works it way to NC coast! I think we have been "conditioned" long enough to accept a near $4.00 gallon....that now we are happy with $3.00 ! ( to me it is still too much- but a necessity I cannot do business without ! )

Yep.....You know what? This economic mess is actually DEFLATIONARY. The Global slowdown "cured" - albeit temporarily - the insatiable desire of China, India and the US for fossil fuel.  As demand has lessened, inventories have risen and so we are no longer under the pressure of “peak oil.” However, that doesn’t mean we don’t have to press forward with clean alternative technologies. In fact, sinking money into our failing infrastructure and doing some of the things that Barack Obama has suggested – such as training war veterans for jobs in our energy infrastructure might create jobs in a tough market and cause a new economic expansion. Keeping money and well-paying jobs in the US is essential.

Don: That's FANTASTIC!  Hopefully ours will fall as well--we're still in the $3.59 range but, that beats the heck out of the $4+ range we were in a couple of weeks ago when we couldn't even FIND gas!

Michele,

It would be nice if the prices went all across the US.

Ruthmarie,

I am sure that it is only temporary but, we do see some relief even if it is only for a short while.  My feeling is we should have been working on this problem since the 70's.  Problem is that the focus didn't stay on alternative fuels.  If the focus would have stayed on it then we wouldn't be in this fix now.

Debe,

I am glad that your gas prices are not in the $4.00 range now and hope to hear very soon that they are below $3.00 per gal range.

That's always a good thing to see. Gas prices here have begun to drop some, but we are still around $3.40 a gallon.

We have a promotion where the price is discounted based on the price of gas.  We have customers clamoring for higher gas prices.  Now, that is ironic - but given that our buyers usually work within 1 mile of their work, they are picking city living in part due to the short commute.
