According to Investor's Business Daily reporter, Kathleen Dolan, Denver is bucking national trends and appears to be one of the bright spots in real estate today. Here's a link to the article featuring the Denver market: http://www.investors.com/editorial/IBDArticles.asp?artsec=27&issue=20081113
Excerpt from the article specific to our market:
Rockies Rise On Rents
Increasing rents around Denver are bringing first-time buyers to the table, says real estate agent Gary Bauer in Denver. Properties priced under $300,000 are selling, he says.
Around the U.S., real estate agents worry slowing economic activity and a difficult credit market might derail home sales gains. The NAR's September pending home sales index, which tracks contract signings, fell 4.6% from August, though it was up 1.6% from September '07.
Conditions around the U.S. remain mixed, Yun says. But areas logging annual pending-sales gains include Florida, California and Denver, as well as Long Island, N.Y., Boston, Minneapolis and Washington, D.C.
