No Matter How Bad You Think It Is...Someone Else Has It Worse

I know that a lot of people are struggling right now, and not just the real estate industry either... I was talking to a friend of mine the other day that owns her own family counseling practice and she said here business is way down and she is just barely paying the bills, and one of my clients that works in a Urology office layed off 3 people recently... and another friend that is a nurse can't find a job right now in Orlando!

But no matter how bad you are, no matter how you're having to cut corners...there's someone out there that has it worse.  I say that for 2 reasons:

First: to give you a little bit of hope that your situation is NOT as bad as you may think... if you let it get you down, then you will give up, and then it is TRULY over.  We have to keep chugging along.

Second:  help someone out this year, no matter how small it is.

My women's group is doing a toy drive for Toys for Tots this week.  Probably every one of you could spare a few dollars for a small toy to help make a childs holiday brigher!  Barbies are on sale for $4 and Hotwheels cars are $1.  Or buy an extra can of food at the grocery store this week and donate it to a food bank.  If every one of us that CAN spare $1 did this, imagine how different someone else's holiday could be this year.

You are absolutely right. If we are healthy and our family is healthy that is what counts. My friend is battling breast cancer. When I am down and out, and feeling sorry for myself,  I think of her. Someon else has it worse. Thanks for the post.

Wow Im surprised the nurse cant find a job they have huge hiring going on right now at the hosiptals. But you are right I was always told never to envy because the grass is not greener on the other side and you dont know what problems people have.

Jean:  a friend of mine always says (any time something goes wrong): "It's not Cancer!"  and I've always thought that to myself, since that's what my father passed away from.

Carla:  ABSOLUTELY I am ready for 2009!  Bring it On!

I don't allow myself to think bad about my situation since my neighbors (two) have breast cancer.  When I start feeling down and out I shake it off because my situation really is not bad at all.

I have been through much worse stuff than this. In fact only making about $20,000 this year my first year in real estate is much more than the $5000 I made the year before finishing up school and being a waiter. Its all perspective.

Yes, let's all tap into how lucky we are to be alive.  Let's contibute to the economy by spending a little for someone who needs help.  It's a wonderful feeling to buy a needy child a toy & some clothes.  I told my husband "this year no presents for us.....only those in need"
