Raleigh Area Buyer's Guide - How to start your Raleigh Home Search

1. Search for the Right Agent - Not all agents are created equal!
An experienced agent is "Priceless". A great Realtor® will handle the details and lead your team to a stress free experience.

2. Needs versus's Wants
Location, size, school district, rooms, layout, yard, subdivision, ect.

My personal rule these should be listed in priority. This will determine your price range and will narrow your search down.

3.Research the Raleigh Market

To have an idea of how the market is moving ask your agent for market reports. Search local tax records. Don't be afraid to ask for numbers and statistics a A great Realtor® will have the data at hand.

4.Get Pre Approved

This is a great time to buy. Interest rates are at historical lows.  There are a variety of programs for buyers. Find out how much you qualify for, and most importantly how much down payment and closing costs will you need to purchase.

A great mortgage professional will ask the pertinant questions.

5. Start viewing homes.

A great Realtor® will listen to your needs and wants list a show you suitable properties. A great Realtor®

will also show you properties you have found  searching on your own.

That is good solid advice. I like your number one - Search for the right agent. I believe that many people just call the agent on an ad and stick with them rather than interviewing to find the right fit.
