Realtor Responsibilty ~ YARD SIGNS!

One thing that has not change is a listing in my Ormond Estate subdivision located in Destrehan, LA. My personal home is located here. Now that we are in 2009 some Realtor practices should have changed. I am talking about Realtor and Broker's responsibility to our listings. One property which I see everyday comes to mind.

The price for the listing is right for the condition on the property. The owner has already been gone about 3 months. The problem as a Realtor is the current broker/agent has not fix the yard sign since before Thanksgiving. How would I know that? the price to sell rider is still upside down. Forget the flyer box, it never had a flyer in it. I have seen this sign for the last three months. This is a reflection of the Realtor and the property. To me this is curb appeal. My first thought is why no one cares. I even thought to go fix the sign myself. Then I think what if someone reports me, my luck when doing a good deed.

As much as I would like to post a picture I think not is the best way to handle this.

The owner has the yard cut weekly and without fail. This home even in this market should have sold. To top this off the Broker office is less than a block away. What is your thoughts on yard sign that are not treated like the client?

When looking for a home in Ormond Estate in Destrehan, LA., call a Broker/Realtor who will care for your property as if it was their own.

There is a big difference between realtors and agents. Realtors have ethics, agents just try to look good without results.

What you brought up is very true indeed.  I saw a mls comment the other day that said that the sellers were moving out, do not show until October 2008.

That has perturbed me too over the years.  I guess some agents are so "busy" they don't have time to look after the client.

Heck Frank I can't get them to return phone calls much less drive out and fix a sign.

Agents should check in on the houses once in awhile.  It's good for their own business, too.  Why would someone want to use an agent that obviously doesn't pay attention to detail?
