When you spend so much time on the internet marketing yourself as a Colorado Realtor it is easy to get distracted fromColorado Horse on a snowy day some of the best old school platforms. So, when a neighbor called and said she was having a horse tea on Sunday I jumped at the opportunity.

I spent a pleasant couple of hours with seven other ladies from the Guffey Colorado  and  The Four Mile community. All of them ride horses and some of them ride alone over not riding at all because they dont' have anyone to ride with in the area. One of the ladies had fallen and broken her neck on one of her solo rides. She had crawled for over three hours before she was found. How do you crawl for three hours with a broken neck and survive you ask? Where there is a will there is a way is all I can say.

The same applies to finding business in these trying economic times. One woman told us all how she carries a giant cow bell on her rides just in case something happens. So, I am taking the advise of some very experienced women. I am waving my cow bell and crawling through the muck and mire to higher ground where my shouts will be carried by the wind.

I went home with seven less business cards in my back pocket, a giant piece of the best apple ginger cake I have ever eaten and a whole new slew of friends to saddle up with once the trails are a little less snowy.

Hi Sabrina, as you know I have lived ALL over this state. Once we headed to Guffey to a coffee house that was having a little "acoustic night".  We drove and drove...after a bit we realized we had underestimated how far it was from where we lived, and turned back, so that is one town of the few, where I have never been!  So I should plan another trip?

Yes Cheryl,

Plan a trip for the Spring and I can tell you where to find the most magical hidden water hole in all of Colorado. Guffey also has a really nice cafe, Rita's. Rita makes a mean hummus bagel, a strong European espresso and she bakes daily treats and cakes better than anyone's grandmother's mother.

That must have been a fun afternoon, exchanging stories and phone numbers.  I like your analogy too....ring that bell loud and clear!

WOW, they sure grow them tough out your way, great story, and wouldn't a boat emergency airhorn be easier to carry and a lot more effective?  Course, can only use it for so long, guess you can clang your cowbell all night if you have to.

I've never heard of a Horse Tea, but I do know where Guffy is - do I get points for that?

I can't wait for the community competitive riding event we are planning. My SOI should start increasing exponentially at that point, right?
