cary real estate: My Year Ends with a BANG!! I am excited for 2012 - 12/29/11 08:51 AM
As real estate agents, we are constantly interrupted from projects we are working on.   And yes, the interruptions were so many for the past few months.   But, my goal was to launch both of these new marketing products by the end of the year and I am making it.
I have just finished doing a wordpress blog (www.CarySeniors.com) where I share so much good information with my fellow oldie but goodies.   Months ago it was suggested that you develop a niche in real estate and I wasn't so sure about it because I have certainly branded my team in our area … (2 comments)

cary real estate: High School Students Make Technology Easier - 12/09/11 03:02 AM
About two years ago I decided to interview local high school students for helping with wordpress, help me learn the social networking, etc.   I found two amazing sisters.   I sent out info on my facebook asking if anyone knew local students that might be really into the computer stuff.   I got several responses, but am so glad I chose to hire my Emily and Lindsey -- would you believe I sold their parents a home about 15 years ago.
Folks, if you haven't pursued the high school students looking for a techie job, you definitely are missing the boat.   These kids … (4 comments)

cary real estate: 42 years of marriage, my business partner and my best friend!! - 12/09/11 02:54 AM
It's been a tough week with some very challenging real estate transactions, but I made it through.   My dear sweet Bud was a big help -- he was may cheerleader all the way.   And Tuesday we celebrated 42 years of marriage.   So many people said we wouldn't make it back then.....but did they know, we were really in love.   Did they know that real estate was going to become our passion.   Did they know how much we care about other people?
Here is our wonderful story!!  Bud interviewed at IBM where I screened and tested the applicants.   That was a long … (6 comments)

RECIPE FOR REALTORS – fast and easy!

Don’t forget the little people this time of year!

It’s funny how we all get so busy this time of year with all the hustle and bustle.   The best part for me is remembering all the people that are so special in your day to day life.   And if you find a family that needs a little help, and you can give it, that is the BEST!!

Just a nice reminder that your hairstylist, your nail person, the mail person, perhaps the milk man….your office receptionist, your favorite lenders, and inspectors … (1 comments)

One of the biggest rock bands from the 70's and 80's comes to Koka Booth Amphitheatre September 16th. Come sail away to songs from decades ago that are still popular today. Hear the progressive hard rock and some ballads with the flair of a Broadway musical. The show will begin at 8 pm, chairs and blankets are allowed in the lawn seating area.
Styx began by performing in local clubs and school in the area around Chicago. They established a pretty firm fan base to stand up on as they went from those clubs to larger venues. In 1980 at the … (2 comments)

Here are some questions for your teenager: What is net worth? How do you balance a check book? What happens when you use a credit card? Chances are, they won’t have a clue as to what you are talking about. Most first jobs occur during someone’s teenage years. They are getting a paycheck however often, but do they know how to budget their money?

This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the 9/11 events in our country. We will honor and remember those who served, helping trapped victims escapes, as well as those who did not make it. It was a sad and terrible event to have as part of our history.
What is most interesting though, is that Septmber 11th marks another important event that goes back to … (2 comments)

cary real estate: Sellers are loosing it!! Share it with your clients! - 08/27/11 07:54 AM
I still laugh and can't believe it everytime I remember the agent telling this story.   At our office we like to share the stories of the trade and this is a great one.
Female Realtor out showing property to a man, his wife and their 3 year old son.   The son was allowed to cross his arms across his chest and look at any rooms in the houses they were viewing as long as he did not touch anything.   They got upstairs in this one house and the young lad went one way and the agent and parents the other way.

Be honest, have your children started looking into what colleges interest them?  What about the next step, actually going to visit them?  It may not seem like that big of a deal to them, but they're looking into the University they are going to be staying at for four years.  They need to make sure that they like the feel of the campus and can find it a place they wouldn’t mind coming back to each year.  One of the girls … (1 comments)

Some say “It’s a man’s world.”  Others say that behind every successful man is his woman.  What about just focusing on the fact that women are in the business world now and can do just fine on their own, without the mention of a man?  A new concept to a few, but I assure you it is not.  Women have been making many advances in the business world that should be noticed and taken into consideration.
