Nope, this adorable little guy isn't named after the reindeer, but rather after his affinity for literally "prancing" around as he runs and plays so proudly. Prancer is a 2 to 3 year old Westie/Poodle mix, about 15 pounds, with a silky soft coat and bright, intelligent eyes. This little guy just loves to run and play with the big dogs, loves kids and adores riding in a car. He's just such a fun, loving pup... there's is simply nothing NOT to love about him. You know what they say about good things coming in small packages. This tiny, 18 month old chihuahua is maybe a whopping five pounds soaking wet, but she's packed with love and fun. She's full of energy, so curious and ready for anything. She's happy to be carried around and would make a perfect purse puppy. Just make sure it's an appropriate purse... Have you ever met a "Chug"? Well, now you have. This adorable girl is a chihuahua/pug mix and she's about one year old... or so the good folks at the shelter are guessing. She was left tied to the front door of the shelter one very cold evening, where she must have been for a few hours. She was freezing and scared when they took her in, gave her a warm meal and lots of love.

Lacey is a four month old Jack Russel Terrier, Chihuahua mix. This is one fiesty girl with enough spunk and sparkle for two pups! Poor, sweet missy. Her long-time owner, who loves her so much, had to let her go due to personal health issues. The kind folks at the shelter gave this guy the name Scooby Doo because he reminded them of that famous one with his goofy, but friendly demeanor. He's also a little mischievious. This guy is one of those pups I would love to take myself if only we didn't already have FOUR rescued dogs. But he just seems so perfect, so ready to fit seemlessly into some lucky person's life. This older guy is about eight years old and is a spaniel mix. Doug is already well trained, behaves beautifully on a leash, loves to play fetch and has great manners. This sweet girl is a little bashful and so very gentle, she needs a gentle owner who would love to have a lap dog and constant companion. Chickadee is a chihuahua mix who is about six months old. If you're new to my blog, each week I highlight a local shelter dog, needing a home. Of the almost 60 dogs I've written about every single one has found a home with the exception of sweet Fuji. I've blogged about him twice before, in fact. I think the problem is that he's a little old, shy and has some minor health issues. But he still deserves a home where he'll be loved forever.

Tucker just may be one of the most perfect dogs ever. Not only is is fun and playful, but he calms down easily when asked to and he's beautifully trained. He knows many commands, walks beautifully on a leash and is house trained. He loves to go for rides in the car, waits politely at an open door and will "give" his favorite toy when asked. Anyone who's seen our blog knows that we are huge proponents of rescuing shelter dogs. I choose a local shelter dog (from Hood River Adopt A Dog at the Hukari Animal Shelter) each week to highlight and blog about him or her. Django is a gorgeous adult shepard, about five years old and is about as cool as they come. He is so very smart and is devoted to people so much that the shelter is driving him a little nuts.
