Seller financed transactions get a reprieve....
I received the following notice by email this morning from the executive of our local Association of REALTORS®

Many of us have been very concerned about the implementation of federal legislation known as the SAFE Act that would severely limit an individual’s ability to seller finance their property in Texas. We are working on numerous regulatory and legislative solutions to this affront to private-property owners, and have some good news to report. At our urging, the chief regulator over the SAFE Act in Texas, the commissioner of the Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending, has taken … (2 comments)

bryan college station homes: HTML It's a foreign language muddle!!!! - 11/23/09 10:48 AM
I'm in a foreign language muddle!
I've been trying unsuccessfully to get my blog posts to be flashy with different color and different size font. But try as I might I still get same ole, same ole.
Case in point!
<font size="3" color="red">This still looks black and small!</font>
And this I put on the HTML tab, but too no avail.
Where am I going wrong??? Am I doomed to being only able to write in one language or will the HTML gods look down on me and magically make it work?
Help, any suggestions will be appreciated!

bryan college station homes: What is the tax credit for home buyers catch? - 11/10/09 10:23 AM

As you may already know, the first time home buyers tax credit has been extended and expanded. There have been some changes made to it that may now mean that you are now eligible to take advantage of it whereas before you couldn't.
So what exactly is the tax credit?
It is essentially a federal rebate of up to $8,000 if you purchase a home. As before, the credit is available for up to 10% of the purchase price of the home with a maximum of $8,000. You will need to have a contract signed by April 30th 2010 … (3 comments)

bryan college station homes: Home & remodeling financing all in one............ - 11/09/09 01:03 PM
So you're in the market to buy a home but your credit is not great and you don't have much in the way of a down payment. But you're willing to see the potential of a house and you don't mind living for a few months in a home with major renovations going on. Now if the above description fits you then there is a loan program out there that would suit you. It's called the FHA 203k loan and here's now it works:
You only need 3 ½% down payment, which can be a gift from family members.
More flexible … (0 comments)

bryan college station homes: What to do with your household waste! - 10/26/09 06:03 AM
So you're getting ready to list your house on the market and your agent has told you that you need to purge and take out all of the items that you no longer use. Or maybe you are just after painting all of the interior and exterior of your house and given your yard a once over so that it is in prime condition for that open house. Perhaps you just bought a house and now you want to put your signature stamp on it by decorating it to your style.
I'm sure whatever the purpose is, if you have embarked … (1 comments)
