They look like mushrooms drawn by Dr. Seuss and they sell for up to $300 per pound at gourmet food outlets.  Hunters jealously guard their secret locations.  I've found morel mushrooms in the woods of Michigan for years, but I never saw bigger, more abundant patches of these wild delicacies than I discovered walking along the Valley River in the mountains of Murphy, North Carolina.
