delaware: The New Face of Westminster Presbyterian Church - 01/25/11 08:37 AM
Westminster Presbyterian Church has sat at the corner of King Charles and Laurel Streets in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, since the early 1930's.  At the height of the Great Depression, the Midway Presbyterian Church (Rt. 1, Rehoboth), decided a Presbyterian presence was needed "in town," to provide worship and ministry for the tourists.  Nevermind that times were tough and money tight.  The vision and faith of its parent congregation outweighed the difficulties of the economy, and Westminster was born.
The 1950's saw growth for churches nationwide, and the church by the sea was no exception.  By now a full-service, year-round congregation, trancepts … (4 comments)

delaware: Rehoboth Christmas Parade a Huge Success - 12/08/09 07:45 AM

Need I say more?  The parade was great fun, as you can see.  Traditions like the parade and the tree-lighting ceremony really give Rehoboth that warm, "Hometown" feel, as opposed to the resort destination by which we are known by many in the summer.  By the way, if you missed Santa in the parade, you can visit him in his house on the Boardwalk at the end of Rehoboth Avenue the next two weekends, Saturdays from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.  And if you're looking for … (0 comments)

delaware: A REALTOR's Day Off - 04/29/09 09:12 AM

Last Thursday, April 23, I skipped town and took a Road Trip to Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. with my friend, Beth. What a glorious day!  The tulips were beyond description, and the display in the Observatory was gorgeous as well.
One of the great things about living in Rehoboth Beach is that it's a convenient day trip to so many interesting places--
Washington, D.C. - 2.5 Hours Baltimore - 1.5 Hour Annapolis - 1.5 Hour Wilmington - 1.5 Hour Philadelphia - 2 Hours Newark - 1.5 Hours Longwood - 2-2.5 Hours Now I just need to figure out where to … (6 comments)

Heart-felt CONGRATULATIONS to the Cape Henlopen Vikings football team on winning Friday night's game against the PolyTech Panthers 21-0!  Not only did the team win, but it was Homecoming to boot!  Everybody did a super job in the newly refurbished Legends Stadium--the team, the cheerleaders, the band--and I hope everyone is having a blast (I know--that phrase dates me), celebrating their victory and friendship at tonight's Homecoming Dance.  (Cape Henlopen High School services the towns of Dewey Beach, Rehoboth Beach, Lewes and Milton, Delaware, and all areas between.)

delaware: Exciting Stats! - 08/07/08 04:14 PM
I listen to NPR when on the road.  Today the report was that the NAR announced that house sales were UP a whopping 5% in June!  I have to say I was truly excited to hear the news.  Great job, everybody!  Keep up the good work.
And while we're talking about good news, The Debbie Reed Team of RE/MAX Realty Group in Rehoboth Beach, DE, ranked #3 among RE/MAX teams in the Delaware/Pennsylvania region, also for the month of June.  Way to go, Team!
