Today's Election Day - 11/07/06 06:05 AM
Here it is almost 7:00am in Fredericksburg Virginia and the polls have been open for just about an hour now. The weather is clear and people can go vote without worrying about rain. Listening to the pundits last night I heard a comment about the Republicans doing better if the weather was bad; this morning is not bad at all. No rain! A bit cool but clear skies. Also heard last night that the Democrats were concerned about several congressional races being very close. The spokesman also allowed that the Senate races were going to be close too. A big question locally is whether (2 comments)
How Many Bedrooms? - 11/06/06 05:49 AM
You know, it's really hard to read an ad for real estate here in the Fredericksburg Virginia area (providing, of course that it's for a home) without seeing how many bedrooms and baths the home has. BTW, on several trips out of our local area I have picked up magazines devoted to real estate and have seen that there is very little ingenuity being used there either. Maybe I will devote another posting to that subject. That, however, is not why I took pen in hand (so to speak) this morning. The reason is that I want to point out a pet (2 comments)

One must admit that many lay claim to the best, the greatest, the tallest, the biggest, and the most (fill in the blank) of just about everything. On my way home every night I pass under a bridge that has a sign painted on it welcoming you to "Fredericksburg, America's Most Historic Citiy." I'll bet you that some folks in New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Jamestown, or Plymouth would argue that point! Well anyway, perhaps we can lay claim to being the home of the World's Largest Thanksgiving Wreath and pull it off. Sad thing is that I have lived here in Fredericksburg Virginia for over (0 comments)
Who Came Up With This Slogan? - 11/02/06 12:35 PM
"Real estate is our life." You know I sort of resent that notion. Granted, I am not a young person with a young family to support. Thankfully, at this point in my life very few (only one to be exact) rely on me to provide them with a roof over their head and food on the table. In reflection, I have earned that status. Yes, sort of like it too! I do, however, find a need to supplement my income from jobs past. I have chosen to be a professional real estate agent and Realtor(r); I do not, however, underwrite that real estate (22 comments)
