Appraisals...are any two alike? - 01/31/11 05:22 PM
I love appraisers and feel badly for them in this changing time, but the banks need to be on the same page with them, and appraisals need more consistency. Here are a couple of the many reasons why I say this:
So... last month we FINALLY closed on a cabin (by the grace of God and my husbands superb negotiating skills) a contarct that we thought was dead in the water due to an appraisal by the bank.
Original Listing Price $340,000, sellers dropped to $329,000.
Our client was the buyer and they offered $290,000 which was accepted for many reason.
