10 Things To Consider When Looking At Homes For Sale In Fort Wayne, IN. - 09/25/11 07:59 AM
1. LOOK INTO THE FUTURE. Hop in your Delorean, speed up to 88 mph, then hold on! Okay, that was weak. When buying a home in Fort Wayne you really need to consider your future plans. Are you going to live there for 5-7 years and then move up? Make sure you buy a home that appeals to many and will be easier to sell in the future than the double wide that sits right next to the propane company and the trailer park. 2. LOOK AROUND. Are you right by railroad tracks? Are you backed up to Interstate 69 and (26 comments)
Dude... Don't Buy This House. It's A Piece Of Crap. - 09/19/11 11:08 AM
Last year we made an appearance on a local Fort Wayne television show called "The Reality of Real Estate." It was just like House Hunters or countless other shows on HGTV. The plot was simple: We take the buyer from pre-approval to showings to closing and they film the entire process. We narrowed it down to the buyer's top three homes and the filming began. The first house was super nice and the buyer and I (Jared) had nothing but great things to say about it. The second house wasn't quite as nice... Buyer: Man Jared, I do NOT (41 comments)
Don't Be A Grumpy Gus... - 09/15/11 08:45 AM
Grumpy Gus comes to every sales meeting, grabs his plate of goodies, then he sits in the corner and complains about the economy and the terrible real estate market. He makes fun of me for "playing around" on Facebook and my blog. He tells me to get out and pound the pavement, knock on doors, and call FSBOs (even though he doesn't do any of those things anymore). When he does get something under contract, he whines and complains about how hard it is for his buyers to get financed and often says that he will be surprised (50 comments)
Paul and Jared's Excellent Adventure!!! - 09/13/11 12:14 PM
In November of 2009 I (Jared) received an email from Paul. He said he was possibly, maybe, could be, might be, thinking about moving to Fort Wayne. He was living in Oregon at the time but used to live here when he was younger. Well of course he was younger when he used lived here... Paul asked me to keep my eyes open for homes in a certain area, but he made sure to tell me not to put too much effort into it. I set him up on an auto search and let it be. I would hear from Paul every (4 comments)
Will Work For Chicken Wings... - 09/09/11 01:02 PM
I started showing Jack and Jill homes last fall. I showed them a few homes in Southwest Fort Wayne but nothing quite fit. We took a little break over the holidays and then started looking again in early 2011. THEN WE FOUND IT!!!! It was an A frame home on a few acres and they fell in love with it. We wrote the offer in January and then we waited... And waited... And frickin waited... We finally got the home under contract at the end of March. They were so excited and happy that they took me out for some chicken (16 comments)
