Town of Malta, NY - Tax Grievance Process - 05/14/12 11:01 AM
Tax Grievance season has arrived at the Town of Malta, NY.  You may bring in your forms and backup information to them from now through May 22, 2012.  They recommend that you drop your paperwork off early.
The information you bring in will then be given to the Board of Assessment Review.  If you choose to, you may present your information in person on May 22, 2012 - but the Board gives no preference to those who present in person.  They review all the information given as if you were there during the review.  Those choosing to give their case in person are given 10-15 … (0 comments)

TAX GRIEVANCE ALERT!!! Schenectady's Grievance Process Starts TODAY! - 05/14/12 10:16 AM
The City of Schenectady, NY will begin accepting Tax Grievance forms today, May 14, 2012.  When you turn in your completed forms and information, they will give you a ticket for May 22, 2012 - the actual Tax Grievance Day.  On May 22, 2012, you will come back in and wait until they call your number, at which time you will be given 3 minutes to present your case before the Board of Assessment Review.
Check here to see your Equalization Rates (they are important to know when filling in your forms).

Many years ago (I won't say how many), I arrived at the doorstep of the woman who would one day be a Mom to me.  I was seventeen years old - and it was her birthday.

President Obama visits UAlbany College of Nanoscale - instead of Global Foundries - 05/07/12 06:34 PM
President Obama is still coming to the Capital District's Tech Valley area on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 - but due to logistical problems, he'll be at the Nanotech Campus at UAlbany's College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) in Albany, NY instead of the Global Foundries Chip plant in Malta, NY. 
Expect road closures throughout the day in preparation for and during the visit.  Some roads closings that will most likely occur are: I-90 from Thruway Exit 24 to Exit 4 , Washington Avenue extension from the Exit 2 on-ramp to Crossgates Mall and Fuller Road from Great Dane Avenue to Railroad Avenue.

Upstate New York's Tech Valley in the Capital Region can put another feather in it's cap on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, as it hosts President Barack Obama's 3rd visit to the area, landing this time in Malta, NY.

Are you ready for Tax Grievance Day?  In many communities in Upstate NY, that date is just around the corner.  The 4th Tuesday in May falls on May 22, this year (2012).
