For Father's Day this year, what about Sheridan Wyoming and the surrounding area.  The Big Horn Mountain Run will occur June 17-20. This is a true test for the running enthusiast in The Big Horn Mountains.  The wild flowers ought to be a delight if you choose a less strenuous method of accessing the Big Horn Mountains.
There will also be fishing
hiking, biking and polo.
and golf. You can also just kick back and enjoy the Wyoming skies.

The Polo Ranch is now available in four parcels.  Please see the LIST for which parcels are still available.  To reference a map, please click the following link- MAP and for a full color brochure, please click BROCHURE.  To interactively view the ranch with Google Earth, you can download the place mark for an outline of the ranch, or you can view a video of the ranch from a flyover.
This incredible ranch, started in 1898,  helped shape Big Horn, WY and the Sheridan area through its horses.  Originally set up as a polo facility, great polo ponies raised here galloped across polo … (0 comments)

big horn: Quit horsing around with property flips! - 06/17/09 08:30 AM

Even my horse thinks it's laughable to think that the only reason to invest in real estate is for a short-term gain.  That game is over folks.  What ever happened to investing for the long haul?  What about buying homes because we want to live in them and raise families and share memories together?  What about investing in land and ranches for the sake of using the land for something other than a vehicle to a quick profit?  Due to our low taxes and high quality of life, I think Wyoming will see a surge of people fleeing the high … (2 comments)

big horn: You Have to Believe it to See it! - 05/20/08 03:44 PM
Count your blessings each and every day.  Today, as every day when I wake up in the beautiful Little Goose Valley near Sheridan and Big Horn, WY, I think how lucky and blessed I am to live in such a fantastic place.  I have a great family and my surroundings are some of the most beautiful anywhere.  Furthermore, the people here are friendly, which is really what makes it so great to live here.  Just take a look at what I got to see today.

big horn: One of the most exquisite offerings in the West! - 04/09/08 08:17 AM
Exquisite!  That word porbably caome as close to describing this property as anything can. You really need to actuall walk upon this land to appreciate it, but short of paralleling Chief Crazy Horse's footsteps, this will have to suffice until you get here to see it.
This could be one of the most unique offerings anywhere in the West. When you think of prime, spectacular western properties, you'd probably imagine an end-of-the-road masterpiece where you're in your own paradise that has a sense of exclusivity yet it's inviting, relaxing and beautiful. It would be far enough away from civilization to have quiet … (3 comments)

big horn: Big Horn Wild and Scenic Trail Run - 03/31/08 04:08 PM
The Big Horn Mountains host many incredible activities such as fishing, snowmobiling, hunting, hiking, camping, backpacking, horseback riding, pack trips, and running.  Running?  Yes running.  For distance runners, the Big Horn Wild and Scenic Trail Run is a big time event in a beautiful setting.  It is tough though, so you'd better be ready for the rugged terrain, the altitude and the distance while you admire the scenery.  And since it starts the 20th of June, it can be hot, or cold (especially at 10,000').  It's not for the faint of heart, but for the adventurous runner, it's a great race.
While in the … (0 comments)

Soccer season is about to begin in the Cowboy State and the Sheridan Storm will have a number of really good teams competing.  One of the really great venues for soccer, not only in Wyoming, but anywhere, is the Big Horn Events Center, which amazingly can simultaneously run 22 soccer games all at the same facility.  This same facility is home to the Big Horn Polo Club, where polo is played all summer and many other activities.  Take a look at Big Horn and Sheridan for a great early May trip to Wyoming, and then come back in the summer for … (1 comments)

Sorry about the previous post about Breakfast in Big Horn, WY.  The video link didn't work out, so hopefully this will this time.  If you want to see the video feed that I posted on Youtube, try this link.  I hope it works.  I'm sort of a rookie at the Youtube stuff.  If it doesn't, you can try to find it on Youtube.  Anyway, it sure was a pretty morning and I just wanted to share with some of you equestrian enthusiasts!  … (2 comments)

big horn: Video update from Big Horn, WY - 02/22/08 05:17 AM
Good morning from the Chase Brothers in Big Horn and Sheridan, WY.  It was a beautiful Spring-like morning and I know people like to see images of our beautiful area, plus horses are always a pleasure to view too.  So, for your viewing pleasure, I took a little bit of video (click) as 19 horses came through the gate to dine on Hay!  Below is a preview picture.

big horn: How about a positive attitude? - 02/10/08 02:14 PM
I know, I know, it's easy to let the media tell you what to think.  Doom and gloom permeates the headlines and we might as well just give up, right?  Wrong.  Yes, it's true that the real estate markets may be correcting in some areas (all markets are local).  However, I think there's a lot of good news out there that isn't getting reported.  I'm interested to hear from agents around the country what your perspectives are.
In our market, the Big Horn and Sheridan, WY area, I see a slight "flattening" trend in lower priced homes, but in general, and especially … (9 comments)

big horn: The Berry Hammer land- a fantastic opportunity in Big Horn, WY - 02/03/08 07:33 AM
A Berry Hammer is a stone tool the Indians used to grind berries.  Along the banks of Kruse Creek, a rising spring creek, in Big Horn, WY, several of these tools have been found (with berry stains still on them), in addition to many other artifacts from a time when the entire Little Goose valley was home to thousands of Indians.  In those days, the land was incredibly abundant with game and the year-round supply of water made this a great camp, even in the winter.
Fast forward 150+ years and the Berry Hammer Land, in the Big Horn area, has become … (0 comments)

big horn: It was COLD but BEAUTIFUL today in Big Horn, Wyoming - 01/21/08 02:37 PM
It's 20 below outside right now and the snow squeaks when you walk in it.  In the full moon, you can see the mountains almost like daylight and the breath coming from our horses noses looks like dragon smole in the night.  There really is a silver lining to every cloud.  Hey, you've gotta look for the positives!  But check out the beauty.  This is a beautiful place and if you don't like the weather, just give it a few months.

big horn: Planning a great summer vacation yet? - 01/17/08 03:21 PM
With winter's grip on much of the country, many people are thinking about skiing and snowmobiling.  That's understandable.  I try to make the most of each and every day and live for the moment.  I enjoy winter activities and I love to ski with my family.  But summer in Sheridan, Wyoming is awesome.  Dude Ranch vacations will bring many people back, from all over the country and world, to re-visit their favorite Big Horn Mountains and casual lifestyle.  If you've been here before, you know what I'm talking about.  If you haven't been here before, I invite you to check it … (2 comments)

big horn: Happy New Year from Sheridan, WY - 01/02/08 04:33 PM
In Sheridan and Big Horn, Wyoming, we brought in 2008 with a nice touch of winter, followed by a bluebird day that was crisp and cold, despite all the hype about "global warming".  One of the reasons I love it here so much is that it is a 4-season climate and every 3 months or so, we get a nice change of scenery.  I inserted some photos below.  Beautiful isn't it?  I hope everyone had a great Holiday season and that 2007 was great and hope for 2008 to be even better! … (23 comments)

big horn: Quintessential Big Horn, WY Ranch- Beaver Creek Ranch - 12/19/07 10:10 AM
This is an extremely rare opportunity to buy a premier property in one of the most desirable areas of Wyoming.
Just west of Sheridan in the Beaver Creek valley, one of the most unspoiled areas of the west, you'll find Beaver Creek Ranch in the foothills of the Big Horn Mountains and near the Bozeman Trail.  If you want to truly experience the Sheridan lifestyle where people from all walks of life blend and enjoy the riches of a western brand of cosmopolitan-cowboy culture, this is a great place to do it.  It's a great place to reduce your stress and enrich your … (7 comments)

big horn: Marketing: Connection or not? - 12/10/07 03:43 PM
I'm curious about how real estate agents in other areas of the country market their higher-end listings.  Here in Sheridan, Big Horn and other surrounding communities in northern Wyoming, I think there's almost always a personal connection that draws someone in from elsewhere.  It's almost like ambassadors (i.e friends who already live here) invite others to want to live here.  Is that how it is where you live?  People come here to visit friends or spend their annual summer vacations at dude ranches, go hunting or recreate in our Big Horn Mountains and then fall in love with the area and the lifestyle.  … (4 comments)

big horn: Looking for a "tax-friendly" place? Consider Sheridan, Wyoming. - 12/10/07 03:02 PM
If you or your clients are looking for a friendly place that is also "tax-friendly", consider Sheridan, Wyoming.  Not only are Sheridan and the surrounding communities of Big Horn, Dayton, Ranchester, Story beautiful places with friendly people, if you establish residency here, you enjoy the benefits of some of the lowest overall tax burden in the United States. There are no personal state income taxes, no corporate state income taxes, and Wyoming's Business Tax Climate ranks #1 for 2008.  For retirees, there is no retirement tax, even on retirement income received from other states.  Mix all that together with beautiful scenery and down-to-earth living, and … (0 comments)

big horn: Awesome ranch listing in Big Horn, WY - 12/07/07 03:26 PM
Big Horn, WY has, for the past 130+ years, been a highly coveted place to live, especially if you like good horses and equestrian events.  It wasn't long after Chief Crazy Horse's reign ended, that Oliver Henry Wallop established himself in Little Goose Canyon on a ranch now known as the Canyon Ranch.  Part of this fantastic ranch, The OH Ranch, is now being offered for sale.  In the heart of Absaraka, which is literally, home of the Crow, Sheridan and Big Horn, Wyoming represent  what the west is really all about- friendliness, hospitality, and a great lifestyle.  For hose who have settled … (2 comments)
