politics: PA Primaries are here! - 05/17/10 01:03 AM
Well, it is that time again.  For some, it is a time to let their feelings be known and cast their vote for who they would like to see run for office.
For MANY others it is a time to continue complaining and whining and not do anything about it.
For a few others, it is a time of anger and frustration because they can not vote in a primary because they are independent or Libertarian, etc...
It was reported in our local paper this morning that in 2009 only 17% of our local voters voted.
17%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You must be kidding … (3 comments)

politics: Get In Line After The Auto Makers For Your Bailout! - 11/12/08 04:32 AM
I can not believe where we seem to be heading in this country financially!
Pelosi is right there in the front of it again.  She is URGING the Bush administration to consider things.   She wants congress to support ANOTHER financial bail out, this time for the auto industry.
She says, "In order to prevent the failure of one or more of the major American automobile manufacturers ... Congress and the Bush administration must take immediate action,"
The Bush administration is thinking that the auto industry was not included in the last bailout.
"We're in a situation where there's a great unknown about … (21 comments)

politics: The Latest Hersey Poll Numbers Are Out! McCain Way Ahead! - 10/22/08 05:26 AM
With all this talk about polls all the time, it got me thinking.  I have been of voting age since 1989 and I have NEVER been asked who I was planning on voting for and why from any poll company out there.
So, I decided to do my own poll and the results follow...

McCain - 83.33%
Obama - 16.67%

There were a total of 24 people asked who they were going to vote for.
The way I see it, these polls we always hear about do nothing more than make people second guess themselves and make them think … (35 comments)

politics: A Real AMERICAN Team - 08/12/08 04:23 AM
I could not help but notice that our men's gymnastic team is made up of many national origins.  That is what America is all about, isn't it?  That is awesome to see!
Kevin Tan.
Alexander(Sasha) Artemev.
Raj Bhavsar.
Also, we have Chris Estrada.  I think he got hurt and was not part of the medal winning team.
What a great example to show the world what we are all about!  A true melting pot.  Maybe we could all learn from them.  Do you think they see each other as different races or as AMERICANS?  I did not see any of them … (9 comments)

politics: Anyone Hear About Edwards? - 08/11/08 03:21 AM
I hope this is not a REAL question, but I have not seen a thing on here about the newest scandal.  Sorry if I missed it!  It really isn't even new anymore.
Maybe we are getting USED to this sort of thing!  We are becoming desensitized to it.  Just another lying, cheating politician.  Maybe YOU can get used to it, but I can NOT!  It is a disgrace!  I don't care if it is a liberal or a conservative, a Democrat or Republican, this is ridiculous.  What kind of example to our country's young people is this?  Not only our young but … (6 comments)

politics: More Wasting Time By Another Politician! - 06/10/08 04:12 PM
As I write this, a House Clerk is reading a resolution by Rep. Kucinich (D.-OH) to impeach President Bush.  She started reading at 8:25 PM Eastern.  Kucinich already read it yesterday(Monday) and it took him almost 5 hours!  I hope this girl is up for another hour and a half of this.  I wonder if she is paid by the hour.  It looks like a vote may take place tomorrow.
So, of those who will be voting, have they read this, all but 5 hour, resolution or did they listen to Kucinich or this House Clerk read it?  The amount of … (31 comments)

politics: How the Libertarian Party can win! - 05/17/08 12:40 PM
Recently I heard about a group of women some million strong who say if Hillary does not get the nomination they will really mess things up in November.
Then I am hearing about all the conservatives that do not plan on voting for McCain.
So, if all these unhappy voters decide to really rock the boat and vote for the Libertarian candidate it could be a decent number.  Who knows if it would be enough to win but wouldn't that certainly send a message?
I, for one, would love to help send a message.  This whole two party system has gotten … (14 comments)

politics: Perfect Politicians and People...Not Possible! - 05/08/08 04:06 AM
Are our elected officials perfect?  No.  Is anyone perfect?  No.  I am not looking for perfect but for people with character and integrity.  Most people today are in a sad state of corruptibility.  They have no values to stand by or stand up for.  They are easily swayed from what they say they believe in.
As a Realtor, I am supposed to abide by our Code Of Ethics.  When I read the Code, it sounds like common sense to me because I like to consider myself a man of integrity and character.  I hear many stories from other agents or unhappy clients … (13 comments)

politics: Another video for you to think about... - 04/13/08 03:42 PM
I can't seem to wrap my mind around the fact that people still follow these liars right to the polls and vote them in.  How do you say something one time and then do a complete 180 and basically deny that you ever said it or thought it or whatever?  It is a character issue and someone with this level of integrity can not be trusted.  I would not trust them with much of anything and then they want to run the country!  Open your eyes and see people!!
Please watch this short video and see for yourselves.  Pass it on if … (4 comments)

politics: The Rich Need To Pay More Taxes!! - 04/12/08 02:38 AM
You may have seen this article in Fortune Magazine or online at CNNMoney.com.  It is right on!  Especially around the times of elections we hear about the poor being taxed unfairly and the rich need to pay more.  Well...
Basically the important parts of the article follow...
In 2005, the BOTTOM 40% of Americans by INCOME had an effective tax rate that is negative.  Meaning their households received more money through the tax system, than they paid!  (Earned Income Tax Credit)
Of those who FILED returns, just half accounted for 97% of the total tax revenue.  The top 10% of taxpayers payed in 70% … (10 comments)

politics: Make sure you watch this before you vote!! - 04/08/08 03:09 AM
I love how a select few can lie and no one seems to care.  People must remember when they are being recorded, they need to speak the truth.  It will come out!  These are not slips of the tongue or whatever they wish they can call it.  They are now telling lies, plain and simple!
Please watch and enjoy and then pass on to as many people as possible so the truth gets out.  Thanks!

politics: Remembering my time in the Military... - 03/27/08 04:09 AM
I remember during the first gulf war, actually when it started it was called Dessert Shield.  It then became Dessert Storm I think.
Anyway, when Iraq invaded Kuwait, we were put on 12 hour shifts instantly.  I actually was working 3 to 11 and just got in bed around 12 or 1 and I had a knock on the door and was told I had to go back to work until 3 am.  So, I got dressed and went back in and did basically nothing until I could go back to my room and get to sleep.  Then the next day we … (8 comments)

politics: Number of troop deaths in Iraq! - 03/22/08 02:45 AM
1st, I would like to say I am sorry if I offend anyone with this post.
I have been hearing a lot of news lately about the number of deaths in Iraq getting close to 4,000.  I love how the news makes it sound.  "And today another 3 soldiers died in Irag..."  Why don't we hear the daily totals of deaths here in America that are totally senseless.
How about this one from USA Today...The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released data showing there were 13,470 deaths in 2006 involving drivers and motorcycle operators with blood alcohol levels of .08 or higher, which … (15 comments)

politics: Important Homeschooling info - 03/08/08 02:52 AM
I do not Homeschool, although everyday that goes by makes me think more about it, but I wanted to pass something along that I feel needs looking at.  This is an e-mail forwarded to me and I am also giving the link to the petition.
The fact that the government thinks they need to continue to tell us what is best for us and our families just sickens me.  Actually it scares me for our future as a country!  You can click here to go right to the petition.  Thanks for taking the time!!

politics: A must see video!! - 02/27/08 08:13 AM
I came across this in another AR blog so you may have seen it but I could not take the chance that you have not and might not ever see it.  How any American could vote for someone like this for Senate, President or anything, I don't know.
Maybe there is more to the story but I don't see what it could be.  I think at the least, any politician could PRETEND to respect our flag and what it stands for.

politics: Do You Know Any Veterans? - 02/24/08 11:03 AM
Something that is really on my heart lately is the need to talk about our war veterans.  Yes, you might be against the war, and that doesn't matter.  What matters is they need our support while away but as importantly when they come home, if they are fortunate enough to do so.
I don't think a lot of people understand what these men and women (usually young), have many issues they need to deal with (ones we have NO idea about) even if they come home unharmed physically.  And to make matters worse, they come home and see the kinds of things we are complaining … (6 comments)

politics: Coming Soon! Meximerica?? - 02/20/08 08:48 AM
This actually came to me in an e-mail, maybe you have seen it too.  If we keep quiet about it we are in trouble.  There is nothing wrong with immigration, but it needs to be done right.  Just like all the immigrants that have come in the past from all over the world.  They came and learned the language and they did not expect hand outs.  They were grateful for the chance they had here, just like all of us should be! And...they made a life for themselves and their families.  … (13 comments)

politics: I know it's early but I just can't help it! - 02/19/08 01:21 PM
I don't know if it is because of the presidential race or some of the posts I ahve seen lately or the war or who knows what.  I feel I need to bring up 9/11.
I wish the news would play some video of it more often.  How can we, so easily, forget how we felt that day?  Maybe if more people would actually remember how they felt about the reality of what was going on and even to know more of the facts a day or week later about the actual plot with how much more could have happened, they would not … (4 comments)
