It's been happening for about a decade, and the next nature series is due to begin in January 2015! What: Nature Series. 19 Seminars and field trips are planned! Where: Birds & Butterflies - Laurens Street NE, Aiken SC - Downtown Aiken. When: multiple events throughout the year. - some of the seminar subjects planned are: barn owls, gopher tortoises, humminbirds and butterflies.

It all began with the train! Here is a plaque located downtown on Newberry Street near the fountain, and there is a statue of Mr. Aiken there, too. Here are some pictures of the fountain and the statue. This section of Newberry Street is off The Alley and is part of our festival block. It's almost here! My favorite Aiken event - St. Mary's Chocolate Festival :) this year is the 25th annual!! A fun day at St. Mary's school, with chocolate, games, bake sale, entertainment, silent auction, book sale and more. Fun for the whole family. Need something to do this weekend? Do you like strawberries? I sure do, I'm even growing my own this year. I planted them a bit late, hoping they do well - I'll keep you posted. I'll take a pic of my strawberry plants and post it here later. A few berry buds starting!!
