For those seeking real estate on Kauai and those particularly interested in REO (real estate owned by the bank) properties for sale, here's a sampling of what appears on Kauai's MLS (multiple listing service) for single-family homes since my post last month:

Keeping an Up Attitude When So Many Feel Down - 12/14/09 04:41 PM
I read a column in Kauai's "The Garden Island" in early November where journalist, Coco Zickos, expressed a “cascade of negativity” that was washing over her. I feel fairly confident in saying that, most likely, many of us have had this same cascade approach us over the last 2 years. And, as Ms. Zickos, we too may have thought “I live in one of the most beautiful places in the world – if not the most beautiful – yet I still dwelled upon all the things I wish I could change.”

Optimistic Real Estate News on Kauai, HI - Dec. 9, 2009 - 12/09/09 06:03 PM
"Kauai Home Sales Soar as Prices Drop" That was the headline in the Dec. 7, 2009 issue of Pacific Business News. The article stated that, "Home sales on Kauai rose by more than 50% in November and condominium sales more than doubled, while prices dropped by almost a third."
Statistics from Hawaii Information Service indicated that the number of single-family homes sold on Kauai in November 2009 rose 53% when compared to Nov. 2008.
Not only did homes sales increase in Nov. they also increased in October! The number of sales of single-family homes - island wide - increased in October … (0 comments)
