Real Estate Industry Moves Toward Going Paperless. - 01/28/11 01:54 AM
No one can argue that, over the last decade, technology has made leaps and bounds. Can anyone remember having to find properties in the filing drawers on 3X5 index cards, or in those old books? We've definitely come a long way and we continue with new and remarkable improvements each year. The new trend, as of late, is going completely paperless! Tools, such as the IPad, are making this possible. Can you imagine how phenomenal this will be when every realtor, title and mortgage professional will use this technology? Many savvy agents are already on board with more following suit. Going (3 comments)

Government Makes Changes to SPEED UP Short Sale Program! - 01/26/11 03:45 PM
Many economists are saying this is the year real estate will finally turn around: Sales will be increasing, prices will be stabilizing and conditions will be generally improving. Unfortunately, foreclosures and other distressed properties will still make up a larger-than-desired portion of our market. The government has made some important changes to the Treasury version of HAFA (Homeowners Affordable Foreclosure Program), effective on February 1, they hope to reduce this distressed property inventory and speed up the recovery of our market. This program was designed to help homeowners who owe more money on their homes than they are worth. Rather than (0 comments)
UTAH REAL ESTATE - UTAH REAL ESTATE MARKET FORECAST - 01/26/11 01:12 PM
Utah Real Estate 2011 Forecast Utah realtors are seeing lots of light at the end of the tunnel for 2011, based on the forecast of Lawrence Yun, chief economist for the National Association of realtors. He went on to say,'In a nutshell , the worst of the housing market is over. The new jobs, and increasing population in Utah, should bring a steady stream of buyers into the market this year.' He went on to point out that Utah is in the top five fastest growing states. That will continue to place more demand for homes. James Wood, director of (0 comments)
DISCLOSURE - This listing might be HAUNTED!! - 01/21/11 09:55 AM
This is a great write up on a listing of ours by one of the Agents on my team and I wanted to share. Good Job Brett! Via Brett Butler (Linda Secrist and Associates): To tell this story right, I must go back to 1984. Twenty seven years ago. Sounds like forever, but I remember this event so vividly that it seems like last week. I was 16 years old. I had a driver's license, an old pick-up truck, dashing good looks, (my story), two of the best friends in the world and not a bit of fear or common sense amongst (1 comments)

Relocating To Holladay? What about Draper? - 01/15/11 11:43 PM
What is it about Draper Real Estate? I have noticed a trend in the last two years with my buyer's and leed generating programs. I receive a much higher percentage of in State Buyer's or Locals who are looking at homes for sale in Draper, Ut. My Relocation leeds and clients from out of State are much more apt on the initial consultation to inquire about Holladay Homes or Real Estate in Sandy. I know this trend has flaws. It may be the way we use the internet to market Homes. It could also be that we list more homes (0 comments)
The importance of home staging in a slow market. - 01/14/11 04:40 PM
Professional staging will sell your home quicker and for more money In a slower market, it is necessary to go above and beyond to make your home sell-able. It is imperative to have a clean, inviting and exciting home for buyers to view. Not only do the buyers need to want your home, they need to want it more than all the other homes around you. A thorough cleaning is the first step in getting your house ready for viewing. You need to perform a deep clean of every room in the house. While doing this, start moving stuff out. Your (0 comments)
How a Foreclosure will affect you - 01/14/11 03:25 AM
It's no surprise that, with the slow economy over the last few years, many people across the country have felt the stress in the finances. Thousands of homeowners have found themselves in the unfortunate position of struggling to pay their bills every month, especially their mortgage. Now, they are facing a possible foreclosure. Have you ever wondered how a foreclosure will affect you? First and foremost, your credit will get a huge hit. Your credit score can be hit as much as a 300-400 point deduction. Since lenders look at your credit score to determine what interest rate to charge you for a loan (5 comments)
Salt Lake County Mortgage Rates are hovering under 5% - 01/13/11 03:56 PM
Mortgage rates in Salt Lake County are still at all-time lows. With 30 year rates hovering just below 5%, many first time home buyers and investors are considering coming out of the closet. Should the home buyer take action now, or should they wait for further lowering of Mortgage rates? My belief is that rates are only going up. Now is the time to take action! With an abundance of short sale and bank owned properties on the market, the combination of lower rates and lower prices on existing homes for sale, there could not be a better time to buy. What my Buyer's are looking At.. - 01/12/11 09:29 AM
Our economy has changed in the last five years. More people have become cautious with their money. Buying what they need, not what they want. But I believe it's a good thing. When showing homes, my clients seem to be more willing to be realistic about setting a home buying budget than they were 5 years ago. What I am seeing is that a large portion of the Homes I show in Salt Lake County priced under $300,000 are extremely discounted properties or SHORT SALE LISTINGS, BANK FORCLOSURES or REO PROPERTIES or HUD LISTINGS. These properties are discounted and priced well. (0 comments)
Salt Lake Real Estate Forecast - 01/11/11 11:18 PM
So this morning was the annual Realtor's Housing market forecast Breakfast. The SL Board of Realtors Housing Market forecast is always a favorite event of mine because of the much anticipated Greater Salt Lake Real Estate Forecast and Predictions. I am also grateful for the occasion to see old faces and meet new agents, Realtors and Brokers. Reminds me of how much I love this Business!! Anyhow, the forecast given by Dr. Lawrence Yun was very positive.. 1. Utah is poised to be one of the fastest growing states in the union. 2. The job growth index, which is directly related to the (1 comments)
