My husband and I went to high school with the owner of Nick's Bar and Restaurant on 124 Millbury Street, Worcester. Nick's is a German-themed bar with local musicians almost every night of the week. Tonight, they are celebrating their 4th anniversary celebration at 7:00 p.m. One of our favorite musicians we like to hear is Niki Luparelli, Dan Burke and the Speakeasy Combo. WOW! My husband and I just came home from an AWESOME dinner at Joey's Bar and Grill on 242 Mill Street, Worcester. After driving to two other favorite restaurants that we regularly go to, we decided to try Joey's Bar and Grill. Joey's is located on Coe's Pond and serves both lunch and dinner specials. Now that my husband and I are closer to being empty nesters, we thought we try some dance lessons. Every year since moving to Worcester, the Worcester Public Schools offer a variety of night classes. The Worcester Nightlife offers not only dance classes, but cooking, exercise, language, knitting, just to name a few. The last two years, we signed up for Italian cooking classes which were loads of fun but we also gained loads of weight! Well it's official. Today, I will spending my last day at my other home office, then closing it down for the winter. This summer, my campsite in Barre at Coldbrook RV Resort had been converted into a makeshift home office. My husband set up the antenna for my internet and I was ready to roll and blog on Activerain! I wish I had come up with this idea! All summerlong, a Boston hotel on Beacon Street has held a very unique cocktail hour. From 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., every Wednesday evening, dogs and their owners could mingle in the Liberty Hotel's back courtyard. The cocktail hour was called "Yappy Hour". Pet owners could bring their dogs of various breeds to the hotel to meet other guests. The first week, it was a great success and the hotel hopes to have the "Yappy Hour" again next year. You may have all wondered where I was this week and why I haven't been blogging. Well this week, I had a "NO WORRIES" week with my hubby of 25 years in Jamaica. Last Saturday, my husband, Ken and I flew out to Montego Bay, Jamaica in hopes of spending some alone time together, away from our busy work and family life. On Wednesday of that week which would be our 25th wedding anniversary, we renewed our vows in a white marble gazebo on the beach. Hard to believe that my daughter will be a senior at Clark University this fall! I am amazed that not long ago, we were sending her off to start her college career there as a Psychology/Chemistry major and now she'll be graduating next Spring and moving on. Well what we thought was to be a birthday dinner for my Mom yesterday afternoon in Sturbridge ending up being a surprise 25th wedding anniversary party for my husband and I! We were both clueless and so surprised that it was pulled off during Labor Day weekend!The party was held at the Oxhead Tavern in Sturbridge overlooking Cedar Lake on such a beautiful day. Well many of you have followed my husband and I's weight loss challenge through this blog. It's a challenge that we started in July in preparation for our 25th anniversary trip to Jamaica. I am happy to announce that we are almost there with our weight loss goals! Through this process, we have realized it's more a lifestyle change and one that you have to think about day in and day out to be successful.
