The harmonization of the PST and the GST here in Ontario will see you pay to stay healthy or pay Additional Taxes On Funeral Service.
In an article "New Tax Not Healty For Uxbridge" by Jeff Hayward, in the Uxbridge Times Journal last week Dave Passalent, owner of Snap Fitness, felt the new HST was a "tax on health".

A recent add in a local paper reminded me that Canadians Are Taxed To Death
I am reminded of a mock coffin that appeared here in Uxbridge some years ago, standing on end with Taxed to Death written on the face of it.
It's not enough we are taxed on our income, taxed on our property, taxed on our purchases, and taxed on services we receive. Now we are to be taxed additional amounts when we die.
