It's always a good idea to have your house ready when you are selling. One of the areas that is sometimes overlooked is your basement. One area in your home that you should really pay close attention to is the kitchen and bathrooms. These rooms are the rooms that are used every single day by your entire family. Countertops and flooring in these rooms could need some attention.

Many agents would not agree with me but it can be done. If you are lucky and the time is on your side it could possibly work. I know that many of you might not want to hear this, but fall is here and winter is not far behind. The leaves are changing colors, the evenings are colder and the sun is not here as long as it used to be. When you have showings after 6:00 pm, please make sure that you leave some lights on for the agents to show your home. Specially the outside light on the front porch. Another great month for real estate in the Ottawa area. Members of the Ottawa Real Estate Board sold 1,220 residential properties in September 2009 compared to 1,204 from last year. This is an increase of 1.3%. 948 residential properties were sold and 272 of those were condos.
“September was another record-breaking month for Ottawa resale home sales, capping off a very busy and active summer for Ottawa Real Estate Board members,” said Board President Rick Snell.

Just a quick update on the townhouses in Town Square Rockland.
The townhouses are on schedule to close for late December 2009. Clients will be able to move in before Christmas. The floor joists are in and the walls have started going up.
The first block of 8 is already SOLD OUT, but we do have another 8 that will be available for the end of February. We have 2 end units and 6 middle units that will be ready to deliver. I received this pamphlet yesterday in my mailbox at home, reminding me of the Home Renovation Tax Credit. This is a nicely created piece that helps you keep organized to keep all your receipts in one place in order for you to be able to get the $1,350 of savings for home improvements purchased before February 10, 2010.
