  Weather forecasters expect temperatures to reach the low to mid teens in New Bern on Saturday morning, the coldest air the area has felt in about five years. Officials are advising people to stay indoors and take their plants and pets with them. Cold air has already caused several accidents around the county as we were seeing some ice on the roads. After falling for more than three months, gasoline prices in the New Bern area are quickly rising again this week.
Prices at some stations increased at least 15 cents in about 24 hours Wednesday. Fuel Warehouse on Glenburnie Road was selling a gallon of unleaded for $1.52 on Tuesday afternoon. The price was $1.58 on Wednesday morning and $1.68 by the afternoon. The national average was also $1.68, seven cents higher than the same time last week.
