Quaint and Cozy: Houses in New England Quick, what do all these things have in common: Pilgrims, Education, Lobster, and non-rhotic speech? Why, New England, of course. Not only did the Pilgrims hit Plymouth Rock in our fair region but also American colleges, American public education, today’s sunrise, the American Industrial Revolution, Basketball, and the Revolutionary War all began in New England (just to name a few). We have half the Ivy League schools, have voted liberal in both State and Federal elections more than any other region, are statistically the least overweight region, and the only one to have Independent Senators (in … (2 comments)
