listing photographs: Shopping for Kodak V570? - 07/02/07 03:48 PM
If you're shopping for a Kodak V570 to snap some fantastic listing photographs, now might be a good time to shop for one.  Walmart is selling these models for $188. with no shipping costs if you pick it up at your local store. It comes with everything you need.
As I mentioned at the IAHSP Convention, you can get a more expensive model with a built in panoramic stitching feature, but I don't think that's necessary.

listing photographs: Home Sellers, Create Some Excitement and Get Your Home Sold! - 06/20/07 01:03 PM
Selling your home?? Create some excitement, stir up some energy, get your house SOLD!!
If you were a Realtor with a beautiful home to sell that was priced correctly, wouldn't you be EXCITED? Make the excitement happen!
If your house looks great and your agent is proud to show it to other agents and buyers, what happens is a "This-house-is going-to-sell-fast" attitude. The excitement is CONTAGIOUS! Buyers can feel this excitement and will be more apt to make an offer.
First, repair and replace broken/ruined items. Have your home staged so it has curb appeal, and updated style.LISTEN TO YOUR AGENT'S … (14 comments)

listing photographs: Sitting On the Market Too Long? - 06/19/07 04:13 PM
If your house is priced right, and still sitting on the market, what can you do? Before you resort to a price reduction, consider Home Staging.
When your home is staged, it is transformed into a beautiful, comfortable and updated property. The listing photographs of a staged home stand out above the others. According to the National Association of Realtors, over 80% of today’s home buyers are looking on the Internet first for houses that interest them. That means the listing photographs of your home that are posted on the Internet must be top-notch to capture buyers’ attention. You … (6 comments)

listing photographs: Myth: Realtors Should be Professional Home Stagers & Professional Photographers too - 04/15/07 08:17 AM
Professional photographer Bryce Mohan's Active Rain blog explains why he feels so strongly about having homes staged before he shoots key listing photographs (photos: Bryce Mohan):
   "In Support of Stagers":
"Personally I see a strong affinity between photographers and stagers. The only thing better than a staged house is a house staged by someone who understands the type of photography necessary to produce the best possible marketing imagery. I suspect their are power teams out there, stagers and photographers who understand each others' style, build upon it and storm their competition with cross promotion."
Please focus on the word team, actually Bryce uses … (49 comments)

listing photographs: Need Perspective on Photographing a View? - 02/24/07 03:02 PM
Do you know how to photograph a view?  Let’s say the Atlantic Ocean is in your seller’s back yard like many of the homes here in Hampton, NH. Or perhaps your listing has a well manicured back yard.
If you want to capture the backyard view in your listing photographs, be sure and give the potential buyers a clue as to where you are standing when you snap the shot. I’ve seen many listing photos of a beautiful beach scene near the water, but there’s no indication as to where the photographer is standing. Is this view in the backyard? In … (18 comments)

listing photographs: Snap to It: Who... Me? - 02/17/07 08:52 AM
My first blog hopefully was sucked into The Black Blog Hole; altho I know it was read by one kind person who promptly told me to start searching the Newbie blogs for insight. Hmmm...here is a 2nd attempt. Be kind!!
For me home staging is a great blend of creativity and problem solving. After 26 years of cardiology nursing, I appreciate the freedom that staging brings; not always having a protocol that I must follow. But the home staging challenge that has me bamboozled is the listing photographs.
I'm not blaming the real estate agents. Who is requiring them to take … (61 comments)
