Median Home Prices in Rockville: 20852 (November 2013)
Overall median home prices in Rockville 20852 have edged up slightly year over year, although we see a decline in the median price of single family homes.   The close in location and new construction is likely to put upward pressure on the market in this particular zip code, but price and condition will matter most.   If you want more information about homes in 20852 - please feel free to contact us.

rockville: Median Home Prices: 20850 (November 2013) - 12/24/13 11:55 PM

In 20850 we see an overall decline in median home prices for both single family homes and in all homes the trend is downward through most of the prior year.   While homes are selling relatively quickly, it is price and condition that are driving the market.   Homes in 20850 are competing with newer homes and closer in homes.

rockville: THANKLESS for my TANKLESS - 11/14/11 10:49 AM
Cynthia Larsen explains to us that a tankless hot water heater is not necessarily the way to go.   Not a last minute decision, think about what you are going to do before jumping on the new technology and low carbon footprint.
Comments are disabled, please visit Cynthia's fabulous blog...
When my water heater sprung a leak, after faithfully servicing my home for 19 years, I was compelled to go tankless. I had let myself get caught up in the "reduce your carbon footprint" mantra and was temporarily blinded from common sense.
Since the day I had my tankless installed I … (0 comments)

rockville: What if Home Prices Decline? - 10/20/11 11:32 AM
What if Home Prices Decline? There are several ways to look at your real estate investment.  One of them is as a cash machine.   Unfortunately, those days are over.   Another way to look at is is a long term solid investment.   Truly after 15-30 years (depending on your mortgage) you will have enjoyed a tax deduction, have a home paid for free and clear - your only responsibilities will be:
Maintenance Taxes Insurance If you pay rent for 30 years:
Additional moving and redecorating costs Rents will Increase You will have nothing to show for it You will not … (2 comments)

Julie is an excellent stager and demonstrates what a great impact a few changes can make.   In order to be a successful stager you have to have an eye on what distracts buyers or makes them feel like the room is small or cold.   These simple, BUT IMPORTANT, tips show you the value of getting assistance in staging your home.

Most Staging Consultations take 1 - 1 1/2 hours; as I go through the house making notes and taking pictures.  I then sum up one or two primary themes, or reasons, for my Staging … (0 comments)

rockville: We got a visit from the Queen this week!! - 08/22/10 01:24 AM

Bees are so critical to the environment.  If you don't want them in your yard, please call a company that will professionally relocate the hive.

We got a visit from the Queen this week!!
Earlier this week, the Queen visited my home.  To be more precise, she visited a branch under my Birch tree in the front yard...............Queen Bee, that is.
I was watering my lawn yesterday and noticed a HUGE hive under a lower branch within reaching distance on my Birch tree.
I googled a Bee removal service, and they came down this morning to remove the hive.

rockville: Another Mandatory Water Restriction in Montgomery County, MD - 07/26/10 01:01 AM
Late last night, the local water authority WSSC issued another mandatory water restriction for Montgomery County & Prince George's County, MD.  Just a couple of weeks ago there was a restriction over the long and very hot 4th of July Weekend - because of a water main that was showing signs of failure.  The NEW water restriction, which was issued late last evening, is related to the severe thunderstorm we had yesterday, it apparently knocked out power to the River Road filtration plant for several hours.   This plant processes about 70% of the water for 1.8 million customers.   WSSC says the … (0 comments)

Marcie makes some great points - in any market the really good and well priced homes sell fast.

The house you fell in love with today...
You hear it all the time... "Oh- we made an offer on a great house, but we didn't get it."  The reasons can run the gamut:
We were overbid. Our price was too low/theirs was too high,  and in the end we couldn't make it work. The inspection came up with too many "items". (and, my personal favorite) We thought about it for too long and it was gone before we were even … (2 comments)
