Ask & You Shall Receive - The Real Meaning...

By
Real Estate Agent with Prudential Mountain Properties

As a young man I casually interpreted this to mean, "You can get whatever you want."  Speaking with a friend yesterday the full meaning struck me like a bolt of lightning.  We were talking about a friend who pushed himself on people in association life rather than asking for their help.  I thought of this and then of the give and take on ActiveRain.  And it suddenly dawned on me that the operative word is not "receive" but "ask", not "what" but "how".  What is the different effect if we approach someone telling them our perspective versus asking them for theirs?  And even in a determined position if we begin by asking not directing aren't we availing ourselves of a potentially superior solution or perspective?  And so I ask you, is asking the high road to learning, personal and spiritual enrichment?

Property Management the way it SHOULD be.

Ask when you don't know, but tell when you do. If you are always asking, you are never leading. There is my "two cents" worth.

Well, if you don't ask, you'll never receive is the common sense position, but if you were to study the Law of Attraction, you'd start to get the idea that there must be a balance.  You can't receive if you don't give and, in order to give, you must be open to receiving.  No one succeeds if they're too one-sided.

Bob very wise insight I agree that you have to ask and hear what other people's ideas are in order to grow as a person, but it isn'ta  bad idea to put your ideas out there too.
