Day 3 of 21 days of blogging.

Here I am day 3 and already stuck! So here goes. Since sitting at the computer for 10 minutes turns into 2 hours, how do you set limits for time spent on blogging and social media contributions?

Do you follow everyone that follows you on twitter? I was, except for a couple of people that I didn't think seemed appropriate after taking a peek at some of their updates. But then the other day, I actually un-followed someone! They were sending so many tweets that the first 2 pages were almost all of them, and I was looking for something else. I realize there are other ways to get to the updates of people you are interested in, but I just found that so annoying. And what about all of the fake celebrity tweeters? How do you tell the real from the fake? Does anyone know who gossipgirl90 is? Someone named Mandy Moore - I tried to google her, but really didn't get a satisfactory answer, I don't think it is THE Mandy Moore and if it is, why would she follow me?

The other thing about twitter that I obviously must not understand, is when some people are having a chat, you see the little bits and pieces but I feel like I am eavesdropping on a conversation I am not included in. So I ask, how is that supposed to be fun or interesting if you don't have a clue what they're discussing?

So, are you social in the morning, afternoon, evening or late night (that's me) and how much time do you allow yourself.

I laughed about your twitter story, I am trying to understand and figure it out myself.  Your questions are very valid and I would like to know those answers as well.  Good luck and thanks for sharing :)

Angela. Not all Blogging needs to be intense or instructional.  Sometimes I just write something good or bad that happened in my day in the AR Bloggers' diary club. You write 3 or 4 sentences and you still get 200 points too!  Once you start writing about nothing, you will be surprised how many interesting ideas pop into your head. Happy Blogging!

I am just getting back to this after nearly a year off. Before I had my baby, I used to jot ideas down when they popped into my head. Like - Oh, that would make a good blog post. Or jot down things I ran across in the day that I wanted to share. Going back to the list I could see if those fragmented ideas could be turned into a blog post. Now that I have a baby, I find my lists are notebook sized. :)  I have to write down everything or I forget things.

Angela:  I am so sorry... but your comments about the time you have been spending on Twitter pretty much tell the story of exactly WHY I cannot see the sense in Twittering... or Tweeting... or whatever.  I much prefer human face-to-face contact.  Best of luck to you, though.  I hope it works for you.  Take care...

Angela, I like your post about your concerns. I have found twitter to be too time consuming for me so I go there maybe once or twice a week and spend my time daily commenting on Active rain. I do like to twitpic where I download a photo of a place in Rhode Island on a daily basis if I have the time, sometimes I skip a few days.

Angela,

I don't twitter, but I blog when I get a good idea. I keep a notebook handy to jot down ideas, because sometimes I will have the perfect sentence in my head, and it will dissipate if I don't write it down. Then I think about that subject for awhile and flesh it out into a blog.

Before I go out, I check to see if I've got my keys, sunglasses, wallet---and a notebook w/ pencil.

Great suggestion about using a notebook for blogging ideas.

I do like Activerain a lot more, the generoisty of people in the real estate world with their ideas is so amazing.

I adore Twitter but everyone has different tastes.  I'm still not a fan of Facebook, but find amazing value in Twitter.  (And no, I don't follow people back because they follow me.  There are too many spammers for that, follow people you know and let them lead you to more quality people - maybe through those conversations you're only hearing in pieces.)  :)
