What's the price of a dream?

The first question out of every buyers mouth is "How long has it been on the market?" The longer a house is on the market, the more negotiable a buyer considers the price even if a seller has reduced multiple times. As the old saying goes, "Time is Money". Homes that are priced to sell are on the market less time and net more money in the seller's pocket. I can give you lots of examples of sellers who stubbornly turned down their first offer and after months went by and reducing their price, ended up selling their homes for way less. Trying to play the odds that the market will get better usually results in thousands of dollars lost in equity as sellers try to wait it out.  Every month that goes by while a house sits for sale is draining emotionally, financially and dreams are put on hold. What's the price of a dream?
