Plays Well with Others... team building brought to the Women's Council of Realtors at the Crystal Coast by Kelly Cobb.
Today, June 24th, 2009, at the Country Club of the Crystal Coast we were graced with a wonderful speaker at our chapter luncheon. Kelly Cobb the inspiration and leader of the Kelly Cobb Home Team of Cary, NC a Fonville Morisey/Long and Foster Company.

Kelly talked to us about building a team and how her team works. She is the leader and the strength and guidance comes from her.

Take the pressure off. Hire someone to do the details so you can do what you do best.

One of the comments that I liked best was "instill in your team that they are to be of service; not servants." How often our clients will treat us like servants IF we let them. That is not our role.

Kelly, a graduate of Meredith College, gave us real life examples of finding the right fit for team members; "above all they need to be people people because we are in a relationship business." Sometimes her team members are fellow alumni from Meredith. She gave us ideas on compensation. How everyone on her team is licensed. And she credited some of her team building ideas and success to Howard Brinton and 15 years of attending his wonderful motivating seminars and implementing the tips and ideas.

Our gratitude and thanks for taking the time out of a hectic schedule to make the trip from Raleigh to the coast and honor us with your wisdom. Next time we invite you to plan to stay a little longer and enjoy our beach. We extend our thanks to Debbie Braxton, a team member of the Kelly Cobb Home Team, who was chauffer and companion for the trip to the Crystal Coast. Debbie we appreciate you delivering Kelly to us and joining us for our chapter luncheon and meeting.

Oh, one last thing Happy Birthday Kelly!  (a couple of days early) Send greeting to Kelly at kelly@relo-expert.com on June 29th Monday and make her day.

Kathryn, what a wonderful program we had thanks to Kelly.  She truly is an amazing woman, and taught us lots yesterday.  Thank you for bringing her to us.  By the way, Am I really that tall?

Amy - The answer is of-course you are that tall, because otherwise that would mean that Kelly and I are that "short."

Judy, I was going to invite you to our chapter meetings for WCR - but when I looked you up you are in Washington State - so it could be a bit of a commute. Bellingham seems to have an active WCR chapter are a WCR member? Also check back Amy Hahn our president had the luncheon presentation captured on video and will be posting it to our website and will surely blog about it.

Helly Kathryn,  I sure hated to miss that meeting- first time this year- and wouldn't you know it, I've heard raves about it ever since.  I look forward to the video.  How very important is our "team" whatever form it takes.  I couldn't do this job without the support of my biological family and my WCR family.  All part of my team.
