Bird wings

On a recent trip to the Caribbean I spent about an hour watching this bird.  It is called a John Crow and is a vulture bird.

I once took a canoe trip down the Shenandoah River in Virginia, and there were vultures watching us all along the way.  Creepy...

Karen - I manage to get many shots and I will share them on Facebook or Flickr

Janna - Yes it can be creepy, this one I felt was performing for me.

Michael - That is so true

Bill  The skies are already crowded, so human having the ability to fly would probably be a disaster.  I would not want to be the air traffic controller....lol

Paddy I agree.

Jennifer, one of the local farmers cut one of his hay fields this weekend and it was amazing how many birds that looked like vultures were hovering around it.

Jennifer: cool John Crow...it would be neat to fly from properties to properties or fly to another town or country and visit... they say some can reach that state in transcendental meditation...great on gas!

I have seen vultures circling in the desert behind my house - before they built back there.  Kind of miss them along with the bats and coyotes that disappeared.

Jennifer, as a child, I dreamed of being able to fly. I wonder if many of us think the same way???? ;-)

Jennifer, this is a pretty cool looking bird for a vulture.  We have a bunch of vultures that hang out at our yacht club but they are kind of ugly.  They are a pest too as they will eat anything bright such as our bungee cords.

Renee - Are you saying they made better neighbors? ...lol   I don't think I would miss the bats and coyotes

Teri - I think it is more common than you know.

Marchel - I can see how that could be rather annoying.  It does not sound like the yacht club is their natural habitat.
