Amazing car... We live by Irwindale Speedway where people take cars like this and race on specified days.  You'd love it!  Anyway, no car payments, not in debt... no new car even with the gvmts help... why get into debt!

Thanks Gary! If all the electronics in the world are ever disabled ....the only cars that will run are going to be those made before the 70's.

Karen ,  Funny! :O)

GTO =   Gran Turismo Omologato      It was the first American muscle car.  This one is tuned to the hilt, and probably gets good mileage compared to other large cars.  The gas tank is average.

I think I would hurt anyone who called my 1951 DeLuxe a clunker! These are American classics and should be treated as such. Turning them in to trash just says to others that is what they are really worth.

Todd ,

I have worried that eventually the Fed will seek a way to keep these cars off the road.

Barbara

That is crazy! Why not keep the parts off these cars?

Trey,

Loved the muscle car era. I had a 421 cubic inch Pontiac 2+2. It was a choice between that and the GTO at the time.

I saw one of the other comments. If you want a good read try "One Second After" by William Forstchen. It's about an EMP pulse and the only cars left running...you guessed it, the ones without computers.

Trey,

The Goat brings back allot of memories! My friend Dan Williams got one in 1966, extremely fast with it's three deuces, but my Charger was allot more comfortable! Not to mention He burnt three times as much gas at $0.299/gal we took the Charger if we were going far.

Trey, I think that it's against the law to call a GTO a clunker!  If not it should be!  Great car, is it yours?
