White Mountain Hike...Artist Bluff and Bald knob..Franconia Notch State Park NH

It didn't turn out to be a beach , kayak or golf day so we settled on a hike. It was cool enough that the physical exertion kept you warm, the wind kept the bugs down and there were not many others on the trails today.

First Stop was the Artist Bluff Trail.

Cannon Mountain Ski Area in the back ground.

Some pretty good elevation change to get the heart rate up.

One of the shear walls of stone where the serious rock climbers dare go.

One of the many nice look out points when you traverse back over to Bald Knob.

At the top of Bald Knob we found a kid to shoot this one of my Wife Vonni & I.

Echo Lake beach...but not a beach day!...but the view is always nice in "the Notch".

Nice summary of your hike, Steve.  My family and I vacationed in the White Mtns earlier this summer.  Had a blast at Lost River Gorge.  Tried to find the trail to Echo Lake but started at the wrong trail head!  We will definitely come  back for more trips - such a wonderful part of New England.

This was great...my kind of hike.  I got to experience all the visual wonder without all the physical work.  Thanks!

This is a great value hike, not too long but enough to get the blood jumping and the views are great even on an overcast day like today.

Steve..that looks like a hike my wife and I would take, except now she has bad knees, so we have to get more creative to get to the great scenery.

Hey Steve, I just got back from a trip up to the White Mountains with my family. I have been up there many times, but not my wife or kids. I am in awe everytime I come. We all had a great time. We took the tram, no hiking for our little ones, up to the top of Cannon mountain.
